Currently at 5 years on mine. Starting to get an achy lower back that wakes me up throughout the night to toss and turn. We've rotated the mattress but no difference. In the beggining i loved this mattress. Im 6'2" 185lb male.
Hi everyone, About three years ago, I shared my experience switching from a 10-inch Tempur-Pedic mattress to the Serta iComfort CF2000 Hybrid Firm, which brought significant relief to both my back pain and my wife’s shoulder pain. For reference, here is the original post: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Mattress/comments/15wfgpn/serta\_mattress\_surprising\_relief\_for\_back\_pain/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Mattress/comments/15wfgpn/serta_mattress_surprising_relief_for_back_pain/) Here is my 3-year follow-up: **Back Pain Relief** My back pain improved dramatically after switching mattresses and has remained stable. I have rarely needed to take medication for back pain since then. Since alleviating my back pain was the primary reason for changing mattresses, this outcome has been extremely satisfying. **Durability** After three years of use, I have not noticed any sagging or changes in support. I will confess I have barely rotated it during these three years—probably not best practice and not something I would recommend. Of course, the long-term durability beyond this period remains to be seen. **Fiberglass Concerns** I have seen discussions on this forum suggesting that some Serta mattresses may contain fiberglass as a fire barrier. Can anyone confirm or refute whether the iComfort CF2000 specifically includes fiberglass? **Summary** I am currently very satisfied. It solved my most pressing health issue, and the medium-term durability has defied the "S-brand" stigma so far. I hope to check back in at the 5 or 10-year mark to see if the streak continues. Thanks to everyone in this community for the valuable discussions and insights!
Three years into sleeping on a medium-firm hybrid like the CF2000, the main thing that stands out is how stability changes everything. When the support core is doing its job, you don’t really think about the mattress anymore and that’s usually a good sign. The back pain improvement that came with the switch has stayed consistent over time, not just a short-term “new mattress effect.” Alignment still feels solid, and there’s been no noticeable sagging or body impressions forming, even with pretty regular use. That said, rotation hasn’t really been part of the routine here, which normally would be a concern for most beds, so the results might even be a bit better than expected if anything. From a durability standpoint, it’s holding up better than the typical reputation hybrids from big brands tend to get. Still early in the long game, but nothing suggests it’s breaking down quickly. On the safety side, fiberglass is one of those things that depends heavily on the exact build and fire barrier used in a given model year. It’s not something you can assume just from the model name. The safest move is always checking the law tag or manufacturer specs rather than going off forum assumptions. If anything’s changed the most, it’s the realization that consistent support matters more than initial comfort. Anyone else seeing hybrids either hold strong past the 3-year mark or start to dip earlier than expected?
First time in my life where I have a mattress dilemma and found myself calling to process a return. During covid I bought a Serta icomfort and it was excellent. Coming up on 6 years I wanted to get a new bed frame and mattress. I ended up buying the Leesa + West Elm Reserve Hybrid Mattress. I tried it in the store and thought it was good but when I received it at home it was a lot more dense and firmer than the one I saw at the store. It’s so padded that it sits too high on the bed frame (also from West Elm). It was so firm I could not get any sleep the first night I tried the bed! I went out the next day to Mattress firm and bought a Sealy posturepedic (blue mattress) and it’s been so much better! All of them cost about the same price.
Wife and I got a Serta Icomfort and don't regret it. However I can't sleep for shit in hotels anymore.
We have a king endy. We did medium firm. We could’ve gone with plush maybe but overall we are so happy with it. It’s as good for us as, if not better than, our old iComfort when it was new, which cost 3x more than the endy and made us both sweaty. I rotate like a rotisserie chicken all night and it’s perfect for me. Most importantly, we don’t get warm at all. Very happy with it and the price was awesome.
