I have basically the same mattress Serta Perfect Sleeper Delfino Nights firm pillow top. It is the same mattress but the name is different since it is sold exclusively at Sam’s Club. My wife and I are extremely happy with this mattress, after returning two other more expensive mattresses.

Yes. I got this exact mattress for my guest room 1 year ago and have been using it instead of my main full size Casper. It was 1/3 the price of my Caper and is so much better. The firm is indeed very *firm* but the pillow top does soften up after a few months. Some guests love it, some hate it. If you prefer something firm, you’ll like it. Might still add a softer mattress topper eventually, if I have guests over again. For me though, I like it. Also thinking about buying another to replace my Casper mattress-in-a-box.

I have the exact same issue and I’m only a few years older. My problems started right around your age and it’s been an absolute nightmare. The issue can be due to several things and you should take pictures of your back to really see what’s going on with your spine. Most mattresses cause me to sink unevenly with my hips sinking much more than my shoulders. This causes the spinal sagging and leads to lower back and some mid back pain. The only mattresses that I’ve slept well on are the Serta (perfect sleeper specifically) ones with zoned support. My parents have one and I could not for the life of me figure out what it was until recently. I’m not advocating for that brand, it’s the last one I wanted since I’ve had other mattresses from them without the zones and slept horribly. However, I’ve slept on 3 different ones while traveling for work and slept better in the hotel beds than my own. They all happened to be the same mattress which is no surprise given I stayed at the same chain, but it reaffirmed what I believed. A lumbar pillow has helped but it’s nowhere near as good as having the full support. I don’t imagine a soft mattress will fix this if you’re sinking unevenly. Depending on the construction, the weight at your pressure points will cause the mattress get pulled downward further out so you won’t get support at your mid section, you’ll just sink more. Hopefully you’re able to find something that works or at least have more insight on what to research

I myself use Serta Classic Latex. My parents use Serta Perfect Sleeper. My mother has L4-L5 disc compression issue. My father too suffers from back pain at times. They couldn't be happier about the mattress comfort. To be fair, I have near 99% positive feedback on Serta Mattress irrespective of the model. You just have to specify your comfort and firmness type and ofcourse budget. My personal favourite is Classic Latex, Ipedic, Perfect spine and ofcourse Perfect Sleeper.. These are our best sellers and have 100% positve reviews on it.

I would recommend the Serta Perfect Sleeper from Bed Bath and Beyond. It’s firm but also has a pillow top if you want. I think we paid like $800 for a King size so a full should be less than that. We slept on this mattress at an Air BnB we stayed at. I liked it so much that I took the sheets off to find out what kind of mattress it was.

Its a hand me down so I couldn't tell you its cost/price when it was purchased. Those tags are the only things I have to go off of. The Serta Perfect Sleeper and Sleepy Basic Hybrid are just the names of the mattresses respectively. Even after reading through this post and reading through all the comments (which I do highly appreciate), I still dont really have a concrete answer as to why the old one doesnt run as hot and is slightly more comfortable outside of a super basic answer like: "I guess one is just more expensive than the other, idk". Which is understandable and makes sense, but ultimately I was hoping for an answer thats a bit more nuanced/unique and helps me understand mattresses more.

You're on the right track with zoned coils. Helix midnight luxe, winkbed luxury firm, avocado plush (that might be too soft), and Serta perfect sleeper all use zoned coils. I'd try them out in person if you can. If you can't i think most of them (the helix for sure) has a 120 night sleep trial.
