I myself use Serta Classic Latex. My parents use Serta Perfect Sleeper. My mother has L4-L5 disc compression issue. My father too suffers from back pain at times. They couldn't be happier about the mattress comfort. To be fair, I have near 99% positive feedback on Serta Mattress irrespective of the model. You just have to specify your comfort and firmness type and ofcourse budget. My personal favourite is Classic Latex, Ipedic, Perfect spine and ofcourse Perfect Sleeper.. These are our best sellers and have 100% positve reviews on it.

Any brands you recommend for/against? I had a Serta perfectsleeper plush pillow top for seven years and now it’s starting to sag, Sam’s Club is allowing me to change it, I was thinking of about getting the beauty rest regal sleep, plush pillow. I am a side sleeper and need a softer mattress

Serta Perfect Sleeper - Extra Firm. Had a 3” memory foam topper on the first 8 months or so until it was broken in and now it’s perfect.

Can I just say. I think your best bet is probably Costco or Sam's. They have an excellent return policy so if you hate it, return it. That being said quite a few mattress companies will allow you to buy it and if you hate it return it. Sometimes they don't even want it back and will ask you to donate to a local shelter. I personally went with a hybrid by serta and medium. I actually love it . And you can always throw a topper on yours and make minor changes to the comfort level. This can all be done if you piece out your bed. Their are motorized bed frames that can really benefit you . You could get a split mattress so you can get a 0g bed and on the cheap.

In short. Your old one is a better quality mattress than your new one. More coils for support, better for quality for there foam. Serta Perfect Sleeper is a better quality mattress at 10 years old vs a brand new Sleepys basic.

For comparison you didn’t just get a Perfect Sleeper, you got a higher end perfect Sleeper that retails for $1300 vs a $500 no brand. Perfect sleeper you had, has over 1700 coils/innersprings. The Sleepy’s Hybrid has 440 coils/inner slings so it has a 1/4 of the support as your previous. So that’s what you’re feeling in terms of quantity. Also I’ll send the foam specs for both too, and it all comes down to quality https://preview.redd.it/e5bf4mhvelpf1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3774b2a28c255cde9a0d2eac94a77b06040abbc3

But Serta is still higher quality than the Sleepys Basic Hybrid. Especially depending on which level of Serta, perfect sleep collection vs iSeries. Serta makes good products, not top of the line by any means, but I wouldn’t consider them low end. Just about every major brand has a ‘low’ end section to be competitive in price, but that’s just part of the overall picture.

If it’s not in your budget to buy a more expensive mattress with better cooling technology, consider a topper with cooling benefits. Coil for coil you probably had more in the Serta, which is why it may feel more supportive, as the Sleepys basic hybrid is a more basic coil structure/count.

I'm fat too, and so is my husband. We have had our mattress, a Serta Hybrid King size, bought from Sams Club online for 11 years. It has just begun to give us issues in that because it is hybrid, you can't flip them, and you can just rotate them. But 11 years is a good, long time for a king-size bed. We paid just over $500 back then. Yesterday, we went with the same bed, except decided to go a bit more firm than medium, and paid just over $900, including taxes and shipping; also from Sams Club online. Oh, and the frame is a metal frame bought off Amazon for $160, so no box spring is needed. There are good ones out there, i promise. Good luck!

Purple has a 10 year Warranty so your current mattress did its job. I previously had a Serta Hybrid that had really bad off-gassing and I couldn't sleep on it for a couple of weeks. It was lovely to sleep on until it wasn't. It was dead after 4 years. I'm not a large person. It also was very hot to sleep on.

I'm also extremely sensitive to scents. Just purchased a Purple Restore Cool Touch, no scent issues. Slept on it the first night. When I purchased the hybrid mattress and couldn't sleep on it for weeks, I had to keep the bedroom door shut due to the toxic scent. Bedroom windows were open, fan in the window to suck the scent out and had to sleep elsewhere. It ended up being very comfortable, but like I said, after 4 years it was dead which is unacceptable. Good luck on your search. The Purple is interesting. It's not a decadent bed by any means, but I had that and it didn't last. Bedding in the last 15 or so years is just overpriced junk. I honestly would prefer an old regular mattress that can be flipped along with really old metal bed springs that never die. They squeeked, but were great.

We got a Bloom guests sleep on occasionally (mostly our parents when they come to visit), and our young child sleeps on regularly. Everyone who has slept on it (including one who had a recent hip replacement) has commented how well/comfortably they slept. Meanwhile, my partner and I spent a decent chunk of money on a Serta hybrid and it is unfortunately not what I envisioned.
