r/PlusSizeBest mattress for fat people recommendations and tips? No budget, I’m just tired
5 months ago

I bought a SleepEz latex mattress. I called and talked to a nice person there and got a queen size which meant i could get a soft side for me and a firm side for my partner and they suggested we go for the deeper mattress since we were both plus size. I love that mattress so very much.

r/moderatelygranolamomsBest organic mattress recommendations? Want natural but not crazy expensive
about 1 month ago

We got latex for our crib and then kid mattress and loved sleepez. Small family company, pretty decent prices, great customer service. We have pillows ourselves and plan to get one for us when ours finally goes. I've spent my fair share of time on her bed and am happy with it. We resused the crib one as a sitting bench and has held up almost 7 years wonderfully. They have all the certifications you'd want. The bigger companies always get mentioned but they've done great for us.

r/BeddingWhat’s the best mattress for hot sleepers? tired of waking up in a sweat
6 months ago

"Cooling" is virtually always a lie. I mean, it's true enough for the first minute or two, but like you've noticed, those materials will trap your body heat, and since they aren't actually breathable (being polyester/plastic/petroleum derivatives) there's nowhere for that heat to go. So it collects in the mattress and reflects back at you. Making your bed a steamy swamp by 3am. The key to cooling, or rather, sleeping "temperature neutral," would be natural materials that have the ability to breathe. So: coils/springs, which allow for plenty of airflow. Latex, which has channels cut through it to improve airflow, plus it's all basically a bunch of tiny bubbles anyway. Cotton and/or wool instead of a polyester fabric for the mattress cover itself. I'm a ridiculously hot sleeper. I bought an all-latex mattress a few weeks ago from Sleep EZ. If you like the feel of latex, I'd recommend taking a look at their website and/or giving them a call. I love my new mattress. It doesn't turn to lava while I sleep, it gives me excellent support, and I'm sleeping longer and better than I have in years. (Before this, I spent 6 years sleeping on a supposedly "cooling" memory foam mattress that was entirely too soft, messed up my back, and left me sweating horribly and sleeping even worse.) I also added natural-fiber bedding, of course. I use a mix of cotton percale and linen. And the other big change I made around the same time? I bought a BedJet. It's basically a fan unit that slides under your bed that has an air hose that then points at your feet and blows air (under the bed air is usually the coolest air in the room) over you. I have mine actually blowing into a linen duvet cover, which sort of keeps in the air and allows it to flow over me from toes to nose, so to speak. BedJet sells a specialty 2-layer sheet that works perfectly with their machine, and lots of people like that, too. But I love the feel of linen, so I'm using my linen duvet cover as a bit of a hack. I then have a lightweight wool comforter in a cotton percale duvet cover over that, again, aiming to hold the airflow around me instead of letting it blow away into the rest of the room. This setup has been a game changer. With everything I've done to make sure my bed/bedding are made of breathable materials, and with the BedJet in place, I'm sleeping so much better. All together, the best investment I've made in myself, ever.

I ended up buying 100% latex from SleepEZ and have not regretted it for a moment. I've slept just fine on a lot of memory foam mattresses, but wanting something that was going to be BIFLT, memory foam just can't be trusted unless you are a featherweight.

My SleepEZ latex mattress is 8 years old and literally hasn't changed at all. Still perfect. Latex is the only material that actually lasts.
