I would recommend the SOL hybrid with split talalay toppers from sleep ez I would get a 3” soft talalay for your side and a 3” medium talalay for his side. My husband and I have a similar weight to you and yours and this is what we ended up with after many trials.
After we got the Talalay topper yes, the SOL mattress is very well made but very hard. You need something to soften it up.
I would say the motion transfer is minimal especially if you have a split topper. I don’t feel my husband move. The mattress is very heavy but the delivery instructions on the box say that it needs to be unboxed in the room it will go so the Fed Ex delivery people brought it into the room unpacked it and removed the packaging. We ended up paying someone $100 to remove our old mattress once we decided we were keeping the new one. If you call Sleep Ez and ask them to split the queen topper they should be able to do it. You’ll probably have to call and speak to someone and explain you want one side soft and the other medium. They are great to work with. I highly recommend you get a talalay topper. The SOL hybrid will be way too hard just by itself. Hope this helps!

Sleep EZ hybrid owner over here, it’s so PERFECT
Really love our sleepez hybrid latex mattress. It’s what we got when we needed to upgrade to a king and couldn’t spend the money on avocado or other brands with sticker shock.
We love our sleepez hybrid mattress we got this summer when upgrading to a king. I went down too many rabbit holes and it was exhausting… don’t do it!
So this is likely a side effect of having polyester in your mattress topper, in the foam below or a combination of both. The simplest way to improve that is getting a new bed without polyester fill. A bed with a wool and cotton topper and a natural rubber foam pad will breathe. I bought a mattress from [sleepez](https://sleepez.com/product/hybrid-latex-mattress/?srsltid=AfmBOooYo8nfff5JNXLNOKXfUV48BJhKbohgrzT0eoq1tRkAUYmUHQiv) maybe 4-5 years ago and I’ve had zero issues. They’re having a sale too. Worth a look. No matter what brand you decide on be sure to verify what materials are used. If it isn’t disclosed you can be sure it man made and likely will not breath.
I got a cheap 8" zinus memory foam mattress ($200 )about 6 years ago for the guest room. People still love it. I also got a more expensive ($1200) sleepez latex hybrid mattress that is pretty awesome as well. It's quality materials. I recommend the latex hybrid or a get a cheap zinus or novella or lucid from Amazon. The more you spend or dwell on the decision, you'll find more faults with it.
I’m not sure but I ordered a SleepEZ hybrid mattress a few years ago and I LOVE it. Not a sponsor or anything, I just did a lot of research before I purchased because honestly, mattress buying is one of the 10 circles of hell. They’re a mid-priced solution and apparently beloved on the mattress subreddit as well. I ordered without testing and I still love it 5 years later.
Sleep ez hybrid with firm Dunlop on top- I’ve had it for two years so far and it’s been great!
Currently trying SleepEZ latex hybrid. Not liking the coils. Too bouncy for us. Going to switch to all-latex.
How’s your bed frame? A badly designed frame will deteriorate mattresses at a faster rate, especially for those at a higher weight. If slatted, most suggest spacing of less than 3” apart as ideal. From [ES](https://engineeredsleep.com/pages/warranty?) warranty as an example of a better frame: > ..on a rigid, solid surface or slatted bed base that is structurally capable of supporting the weight of the mattress and user(s). > A proper bed frame is defined, for the purpose of this Mattress Warranty, as having at least five to six (5-6) leg support for a Queen, King, and California King Mattress, four (4) leg support for Twin and Full Mattresses. For Queen, King, and California King slatted style bed frames, there cannot be greater than five (5) inches between each slat in order to provide ample structural support for the foundation and user(s). Each slat needs to be a minimum of two and a half (2.5) inches wide. I’m not sure how long you’ve had the current mattress but consider laying it on the floor to see if that changes anything. As mentioned by u/Hamuq, if you sleep hot then majority foam mattresses aren’t ideal. I have an all latex mattress that does sleep cooler than a polyfoam mattress I’ve tried, but my parent’s hybrid is more breathable and thus sleeps cooler. I have a SleepEZ [latex](https://sleepez.com/product/natural-latex-mattress/) and got my parents a [Select Sleep Hybrid](https://sleepez.com/product/hybrid-latex-mattress/); the former is still good in an air conditioned room so long as I only lie in it when going to sleep, otherwise it can retain heat more than I’d like on some nights depending on the season, and the latter is great but not designed for heavier weights. If you’re interested in a latex mattress and don’t need a split firmness I’d get it from their sister company [LMF](https://latexmattressfactory.com/products/luxerion-latex-mattress) for a better price than SleepEZ but I can vouch for the service from SleepEZ if that matters to you. Some people have mentioned that contacting them over the phone makes things more flexible. I have purchased from Engineered Sleep and their service has been great as well, I have no idea what they’d recommend you but I highly recommend contacting them and asking any and all questions since they definitely don’t want people returning a mattress. I have limited experience with them but [Mattress Makers](https://mattressmakers.com/products/natural-hybrid-mattresses/) has been able to answer my questions when I called but I haven’t purchased anything from them since they charge $199 to ship outside of California. If I were in the market today and had the same budget that I had then, then I’d probably go for either the Duo Latex/Lift or the LMF Luxerion, or something local to me. Regardless of what you end up deciding on, I highly recommend calling them up before buying.
