I have a 100% latex mattress from SleepOnLatex. I believe Avocado is the most "ethical" company but they are insanely expensive. Mine was cheaper but still fair trade and organic. I also have two pillows from them (that came with a whole second bag of stuffing each so I can easily make 4 pillows). Latex is firmer than a traditional mattress and the biggest inconvenience is it weighs 100 pounds so changing sheets is a workout for me. But it will last way longer than is typical and it is hyper allergenic which has been great for my dust allergies (it doesn't hold dust easily). Highly recommend it.

After struggling with shitty mattresses that sag, my wife and I took a gamble on a latex mattress. SleepOnLatex firm mattress it’s been wonderful and looks and feels brand new after a year. The edge support on latex isn’t incredible but I sleep on my side near the edge, and I do not roll off. However the longevity of latex is allegedly amazing. No stupid springs to break on you. Apparently some last for decades. The company has a 10 yr warranty.

[Sleep on Latex](https://sleeponlatex.com/products/natural-latex-mattress) Free mattress returns within 100 days. Comfort adjustment available (50% discount on a topper of your choosing). I bought a medium firmness queen mattress several years ago, then got a soft topper a few weeks later. Best mattress & mattress business I've ever dealt with.

I have SOL firm and I love it. Just my two cents: latex mattress not sold in stores so hard to decide. Order latex samples from every company and you will see. SOL has the most dense firm latex mattress as I recall when I ordered samples. I found their samples the best for my needs so that’s why I have SOL firm.

I have the all latex from SOL. Reach out to their customer service, they are very helpful with recommendations. I don’t like coils at all (but it might be just me), I had Tempurpedic for over 10 years, I hated. I sleep on my back and side as well, but because it is firm latex usually I end up on my back most of the night.

My husband thought he would HATE it and he LOVES it. We got a medium from SOL. I have liked an extra firm bed for almost my entire life. I’m not the biggest fan of the medium latex. However. I LOVE the 3 inch soft topper on a rock solid inner spring mattress that’s on top of an extra solid base. It’s our guest bed and I adore everything about it. My stepdaughter likes a soft pillow top experience and even she likes it. We have lots of guests. Only the tummy sleeper hated it.

We had a beautyrest extra firm queen (brs900) that became our guest bed when we moved and had space for a king. We have a medium firmness king from sleep on latex. My husband loves it. I like it. It’s a little more firm than I want. I usually start out the night with him and if he snores I go back to the beautyrest. My step daughter was in a car accident before the first time she stayed with us and I bought a three inch soft topper from sleep on latex for her. She liked the bed so much that she mentions it each time she stays with us: I wish I had bought this after my accident instead of what we got. Funny thing is I like the bed even more with the topper. I end up sleeping on it a little more than half the nights. You need a firm base to support it. We are using the Zinius smart base. It has some drawbacks but the upside is it doesn’t sag. The way it’s constructed I’m not sure it can sag. I think mattress sag is a lot of the reason people complain about low back discomfort. And I think a lot of sag is a sagging base.

I don’t know if it’s BIFL, but I got this latex mattress off amazon this summer and I absolutely love it. It keeps me so much cooler than my previous one. The medium firmness that I got is incredibly firm so take that into consideration. Prices range from $800 to $1800. I did a lot of research and discovered a latex would fit my needs best. I got the pure green latex mattress, medium firmness and added a topper from Birch and it was the first thing that I found comfortable. This was about 8 years ago.

I recently ordered a Sleep on Latex medium firm 100% latex mattress and love it. Can't feel any movement from partner, soft enough for me, firm enough for them. I thought i might have to order a softer topper, but am happy so far

I recently bought the Avocado mattress at Costco (it's a Costco-specific model) and ended up returning it because it was too soft for me. That experience gave me the push to take a chance on the Sleep on Latex Pure Green mattress in Firm (I had two 3" SoL soft toppers and a Birch latex & wool topper on hand, so I felt confident I could make it softer if I needed to). This bed is my soul mate. I literally daydream about it. I have not slept this well in years - maybe decades. I adore it.

Sure! And definitely same! It's hard because it's so subjective. I loved the Avocado, but it didn't love me back. My kiddo has an Avocado kids mattress and I LOVE it - it's the first time it occurred to me that I actually wanted a firmer mattress. I had been on a 3" soft latex toppers on top of an old innerspring mattress because I started having pain in my hips and I thought it was too firm - trying his was a revelation for me. I had no idea my body would like firmer better. Anyway, once we got his mattress I loved it so much, I was sure I wanted an Avocado of my own. Long story short, as I said, the one from Costco was too soft - I realized I couldn't fully relax because my muscles were engaged trying to hold my body in line, if that makes sense? Avocado just came out with a true firm, but to your point about budget, it is $$$$$$ and that was a nope for us. Since we'd been using the toppers, we knew we liked the feel of latex, so we decided to go for the SoL. I was working on the "I can always make it softer on top, but can't really make it firmer or add support" principle when we chose the firm instead of the medium. It is quite firm, but again, I ordered the firm, not the medium. I'm curious what that would feel like, but happy with my choice. If I "stand" on my knee on it I can sink in something like 4 inches or so, and I can press it down to the side rail with my hand if I really try, but lying down it feels pretty solid. There's give - it's latex, not concrete, so it's not really like "lying on the bare floor" (people exaggerate). If you like the feel of latex, I'd say to aim firmer and dial in your comfort level as needed with a topper. In fact, the thing that had us pull the trigger on the return of the Avocado was when we were putting away the guest bed after a family visit and we took a breather on that 3" topper on the floor. My husband and I looked at each other and said, "You gotta be kidding me..." He was like, "If this was the answer all along..." 🤣

Sleep on latex and latex for less are both good all natural all latex mattresses wrapped in organic wool and on the cheaper end of the spectrum for latex mattresses
