Hi there- I've been struggling for over a year - bought a Spring Air back supporter mattress -14.5G zoned coils and eurotop - my hips sink down in foam and then have hip pain and although it feels soft, I also get shoulder pain. I've tried so many different toppers and nothing has worked- Currently making my own zoned topper (softer foam 10ILD for shoulders and HR 28ILD firmer foam for hips to keep hips from sinking) but would much prefer a mattress that did not need a topper. I'm a petite (5') lightweight side sleeper with shoulder bursitis flares so shoulders need soft but hips need a medium-soft. I wish I could find a plush mattress with a zipper that would allow me to put a shim in the hip section. Seems so hard to find a medium-soft 4/10 mattress- all the soft ones are way too soft for my hips and every medium mattress 5 or 6/10 is too firm for me. Latex does not work. Trying to avoid zoned coils as it did not work well with the Spring Air. I see that some companies are now zoning the foam or using a shim piece. Would prefer a hybrid as I have never had an all foam mattress and I do sleep hot so not interested in all memory foam. Tempurpedic did not work- I tried the lux adapt medium hybrid- great for back, but terrible on my side. And their soft versions, I sank and then hit hard surface. I tried the BR world class 4 plush and it was way too soft. The level 3 plush felt too firm in the store so I thought the 4 would work but nope. I previously had a Stearns and Foster from 2016 that was a luxury plush pillowtop - always was a bit too firm for my shoulders but hips never sank and I was ok until 2 years ago when I was sleeping slanted as the edge support is too good. I tried the Stearns lux estate medium hybrid and it arrived defective - big hump in the center and I hated the deep divets. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Stearns and Foster Lux Estate in Medium
No! It’s been great. The medium firm took a little bit of getting used to - we didn’t get one with a pillow top. But my husband and I like it a lot.
The Stearns and Foster Lux Estate euro top medium/firm are really nice mattresses. They're definitely expensive, but they have high quality latex (just enough, not too much to where you sink into it) and the beds breathe very well. I would make sure to fulfill all the terms of the warranty, though. Some Stearns have had longevity issues. I think the euro tops are more resistant to sag than their pillow top mattresses, but it's still something worth researching before buying.
I used to have the Stearns and Foster lux estate ( medium). I didn’t like it because it had all these divots which made it uncomfortable for me plus it started to have significant body imprints after only 3 yrs. Room To Go let me swap it out because it was deemed defective. I got the Stearn and foster lux hybrid elite in medium.. so far I’m loving it
Invested in a Stearns and Foster Lux Estate pillowtop, split king with adjustable bases. Game changer but incredibly expensive. In total, it was about 13k, but bases were really a one-time purchase.
I spent months trying literally dozens (if not over a hundred 😵💫) of mattresses last year when I was moving and needed a new one. Personally I am on the small side in stature and weight and I need a mattress as soft as possible to avoid pressure points and dislocations. The only one that felt truly comfortable to me was the Stearns and Foster lux estate soft pillow top - so totally out of my budget but after lots of attempted denial I finally gave in financed it, along with an adjustable power base. I spend so much time in bed it was a necessity to get a mattress that wouldn’t further hurt my body. I love it and am thankful for it everyday, it is soooo comfortable and supportive and I can get into any position I need to be in based on joint/muscle issues, GI symptoms, POTS flares, etc. I rarely wake up in pain anymore. Best of luck finding the right mattress for you!
