I ordered one yesterday, it arrives Wednesday. Will report back after a couple nights sleep.
I have been sleeping on it for a few nights now, it is definitely firmer than the original lake ridge pillow top I had a while back, and the tempurpedic medium firm hybrid I just returned. I'm still not used to it yet ( but my wife thinks it's fine). We added a very light bamboo topper, overall I'm pretty pleased. We have it on an adjustable platform base, but keep it flat. If you're on the fence and want a nice firm hybrid mattress for a reasonable price. I would recommend you give it a try. You really can't lose with Costco return policy. For weight comparison I'm 300lb and she is 150. Hope this helps!
Yes, it's still nice and firm. Edge support is really good. I like it. My back pain has been acting up these last few days but I think it's more arthritis related than the mattress. Time will tell.
At your body type, the Kirkland lake ridge mattress may work best. I loved it for about a year, but I'm over twice your size so it wore out rather quickly.
I have this and LOVE IT. I added a topper for softness on the top and it has such awesome support but perfectly soft (and the softness is adjustable now) so it’s awesome
The Stearns and foster lux estate is sold at Costco as the lake ridge mattress for $999. I have it and LOVE it, I got it from some guy brand new on Facebook marketplace for $389. Take a look and see because there are a lot of mattress warehouses that are selling close to the bulk price
They change the outside design for sure. But based at this analysis they have nearly identical coil counts and thicknesses. I just had the tight top version delivered last weekend. It replaced a 20 year old firm S&F. It sits on a pretty good set of box springs. So far it's exactly what we wanted. I did notice, however, that this item has now been removed from the website. Anyone know why?
We like it a lot. No sagging after 5 weeks, but that doesn't say much. I'd wait for it to go on sale for $150-$200 off.
We got ours last weekend and it is definitely firm. Still hoping it breaks in or we might have to swap it. We didn’t like the pillow top but this one is definitely very firm.
I never tried the pillow top but after trying similar at the stores I decided that it might be too soft in general so that’s why we went with the firm top, but I have a feeling it just takes a couples weeks to break in.
Got mine today. It's exceeded expectations. Very high quality and the nicest mattress I've ever purchased. Excited to take my first flight in minutes! The only thing I'm surprised about is the firmness. It sits somewhere between firm and very firm however with break-in I'm thinking it'll settle perfectly for my aging 39yo back
Super high quality. In the matter of a week my back pain from my previous soggy mattress is gone. I love it. Only thing to note is it's between firm and extra firm. I anticipate it breaking in but may pickup a topper in the coming week as it's too stiff for my girlfriend. Would recommend.
Yeah still love it. It's broken in nicely
Out of the 9 or so Costco mattresses (Lessa Legends, Novaform, Sealy Posturepedics, S&F, and BeautyRest) I've tried so far, I like this one the most (and hate the Novaform Legacy with a passion). It's weird because my first Costco mattress was the S&F Kirkland Medium pillowtop, and it was mid. I could be remembering incorrectly, or my back is washed after all the mattresses since it's been a while, but I recall it initially being too firm for me and disliking the very divoted (?) patterned top. Either way, it doesn't matter because it ended up sagging/dipping near the hip area after a year. Now that I've slept 2 nights on the S&F Kirkland Firm tight-top version, I can only wish it won't dip like the previous S&F, because it has everything I like: med-firm (imo it's 7.5 or 8/10), the best edge support (out of all tried beds), not-boiling-alive-inducing materials, and excellent motion isolation (might be even better than the S&F Med). The last point is highly desirable because I sleep with my bf (6'0, 200+ lbs), and I'm 95 lbs, so most beds make me roll to one side. The only cons I can think of (which also applies to the Med-ver) are: it's too heavy for me to change sheets, and it's 14'' tall.
