We got us Stearns and foster had it for four years and *just* returned it. It certainly seemed like a few of the reviews were exactly what the mattress was which was terrible and a few were fake but Costco took it back after four years so we’re gonna try them again, no reason not to explore what they offer.

We just got the Costco pillow top Kirkland and I’m obsessed. We got it for my toddler and I constantly leave my bed to sleep with him. I keep trying to leave a review in the Costco sub but their rules suck and I gave up. It’s on sale too. Will 100% but for our king when we need to. Best part is they have free returns if it doesn’t work out

My next mattress will be the tight top. My 2 year old Lakeridge with the pillow top is going to my girlfriend's house.....she loves it.

Bought a Stearns and Foster a couple years ago. This was before the tight top pictured. It was very firm when new and broke in perfectly. I still sleep great on it. Its very sturdy and well built and heavy. I rotate it every other week. This mattress is not flippable. I paid I think 1100 or 1199 for the king. I had gone through about 6 or 7 online mattresses before this. I would buy another one of these from Costco when I need a new mattress. With Costco's service and return policy, its a no brainer.

Really appreciate you doing this. If you have a moment, would love your thoughts. Sorry in advance for the lengthy question, but I wanted to try and provide as much context. I've been trying to find a new (King) mattress. I'm 6'0" 185 lbs, male. Side sleeper only. Sleep pretty hot (only use a sheet, even in the winter). As a side sleeper, I sleep with a pillow between my knees, and have found a pillow for my head that has decent support. I was getting really bad lower back pain with my old mattress. So I bought a new mattress. I'm now on my 2nd mattress that I've tried, and need to return it for something different. I'm still getting really bad lower back pain, waking me up after about 4hrs of sleep, and then just tossing and turning. I feel exhausted. My 1st mattress was a Sealy Posturepedic Lincoln Heights firm. This was far too firm, at least for me. I thought I needed a medium firm to support my hips / back, but this one was worse than my old mattress. My (current) 2nd mattress is a Stearns and Foster Pillow Top Lakeridge. I had high hopes for this, as I understand S&F are good quality. It is definitely more of a medium firm, but still firm. Yet, even now after having this for 2 months trying to let it "break in," I still have pretty bad lower back pain and toss and turn after only 4hrs of sleep. One other note, I don't move much when I sleep. And so, with both mattress so far, they both created a body impression that is noticeable after only a few weeks. So much so that I feel like I sleep in a bit of a impression hole, and if I move to another spot, I feel like I'm going to roll into it. Are there any mattresses that you would recommend? Or any tips that would be helpful? My budget is under $2k. But ideally would prefer to be in the $1000-1500 range. Thanks in advance!

I bought the pillowtop version of this two years ago, before they made the changes to it about a year back. It sleeps very hot. Its definitely medium firm feeling in my opinion and has lost a lot of its foam durability over the years. There's indented and soft spots where my hips rest on the bed now, even though i did regular rotation of the bed. I saw on naplab in a cutout section of the mattress that its almost half foam and only has .75 inch of memory foam, which I think lead to the deterioration of mine. What's interesting to me is that the disclosure tag has the exact same fill weight and composition to the pillow top. I tried the s&f estate pillow top firm at a local store and it felt almost exactly the same as the lakeridge pillow top. Definitely buy it from costco cause id worry about longevity a bit

Thanks so much for this review! I currently have the medium S&F from costco and totally agree with how it feels so divoted, hot and am dealing with the sagging near the hips (I call it my butt crater) but then the center is still firm. It does feel firmer and cooler right now because it's winter but still not comfortable. I really hope it holds up for you and I'm probably going to do an exchange for the tight top version

I was able to try the S&F estate pillow top firm and it felt almost exactly like the lakeridge from costco, maybe a tiny bit softer because it has less memory foam and more polyfoam. The extra firm s&f estate tight top had little to no give at all

thanks for the update, and the info about the avocado. Was it the model that is offered for sale at costco? I have the lakeridge pillow top from costco and the foam is starting to soften up too much and was considering switching to the avocado. The tufts on the pillow top did eventually soften up, i think they're just polyester and a very thin foam.

Out of the 9 or so Costco mattresses (Lessa Legends, Novaform, Sealy Posturepedics, S&F, and BeautyRest) I've tried so far, I like this one the most (and hate the Novaform Legacy with a passion). It's weird because my first Costco mattress was the S&F Kirkland Medium pillowtop, and it was mid. I could be remembering incorrectly, or my back is washed after all the mattresses since it's been a while, but I recall it initially being too firm for me and disliking the very divoted (?) patterned top. Either way, it doesn't matter because it ended up sagging/dipping near the hip area after a year. Now that I've slept 2 nights on the S&F Kirkland Firm tight-top version, I can only wish it won't dip like the previous S&F, because it has everything I like: med-firm (imo it's 7.5 or 8/10), the best edge support (out of all tried beds), not-boiling-alive-inducing materials, and excellent motion isolation (might be even better than the S&F Med). The last point is highly desirable because I sleep with my bf (6'0, 200+ lbs), and I'm 95 lbs, so most beds make me roll to one side. The only cons I can think of (which also applies to the Med-ver) are: it's too heavy for me to change sheets, and it's 14'' tall.

Number 5 is the best out of the bunch. But why buy the wrong thing. Go to a store and lay on some beds.

For your dad and you the best option is the Kirkland Signature by Stearns & Foster 14.5" Pillow Top Lakeridge Mattress from Costco, or without the pillow that's more firm, this mattress is really firm good for his weight, easy to go in and out of the bed and smart base compatible, if you are worried because he sleeps hot you could add a wool mattress topper, you need a solid mattress and you can deliver a mattress topper every two years for Christmas to feel like new.

Kirkland Signature by Stearns & Foster 14.5" Lakeridge Mattress i returned this one. It started sagging/dipping on me. It also had no bounce which I really disliked. it did sleep pretty cool though.

Medium bed maybe? I agree the kirkland is firmer than advertised, even after breakin. Im 190lbs so maybe it softened much faster. I fall asleep on my stomach and turn to my back so firm is must for me.
