I did the full mattress store tour. After being very turned off by the BS marketing, I decided to take a chance at Costco on a king size Stearns and Foster. Hands down the best purchase I’ve made in years. As best I can tell, this thing is on par with one of the mid-high to high level mattress from Sleepcountry.
Make sure you buy it online so that delivery is included.
I have this one, about a year now. I’d say it’s an 8/10 for firmness. I’m a side sleeper, and I like it. My wife and I don’t feel each other moving at night which is great.
If you aren’t in a rush, they go on sale, I got mine at $750.
I have Sterns and Foster. Side / stomach sleeper mostly, rarely on my back. Had it for 5 years and love it. Delivery was great. Would have no issues with repurchasing.... which won't be for a while as the thing still looks and feels great.
Costco. Bought the Kirkland Sterns and Foster model. White glove delivery (meaning they brought it up to my bedroom and took the old one away). A good mattress will last years, and you spend 1/3 of your life on it. Make sure you consider that when making the purchase ($800 vs. $1200 over the course of 10+ years isn't that much)
I bought the Queen Sized Kirkland Signature by Stearns & Foster 14.5" Pillow Top Lakeridge. It has a pillow top so it's more of a medium than a firm.
It's so much better than my old Ghost mattress which was way too soft. The mattress itself is well constructed and gives me all the support I need as a heavier fella. Great price point at $999.
However, the delivery was less than favorable. It was supposed to be a drop off/haul away deal. Delivery men dropped off the mattress then claimed they had no knowledge of a haul away. I had to call Costco customer service and they apologized profusely and sent someone the next day for haul away.
We got us Stearns and foster had it for four years and *just* returned it. It certainly seemed like a few of the reviews were exactly what the mattress was which was terrible and a few were fake but Costco took it back after four years so we’re gonna try them again, no reason not to explore what they offer.
