We had an amazing Tempurpedic pillow top for 20 years that we replaced with a new Tempurpedic in 2021. It was like sleeping on a concrete slab. No matter what I tried to do with toppers I could not make it work. So three months ago we tested all the Saatvas at the store and went with the 15” RX. I am so happy we did. At first you do have to get used to going back to a bit of a bounce you don’t get with memory foam but since we sleep so deeply it’s not an issue. It’s not like the old springs style bed type bounce. The mattress stays cool and we sleep great. My husband has chronic lower back pain and I am a side sleeper who needs shoulder and hip support. We are both super happy so far.
SO... we had a Tempur Cloud Supreme from 2012 that we loved but it had definitely seen better nights by this point , we decided to go a different route when we replaced it last month. We chose a Sealy Posturpedic. We found it very comfortable in the store. Suffice it to say... we returned it this past weekend and have a Tempur ProAdapt coming this weekend to replace it. I think those that love Tempur mattresses will have a hard time replacing it with anything else. Just my 2cents.
My last two mattresses were at vastly different price points and I honestly enjoyed both of them. I had a Zinus memory foam mattress, the one with green tea, for a total of 7 years. I loved it and the only reason I got rid of it was due to a size change. Right now I’m rocking a Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme and I also really like it. If you’re budget conscious though, I don’t think it’s worth it to splurge on this compared to the Zinus or any of its competitors. I have yet to get into the really high end stuff, or unique materials such as wool or latex. Maybe I will at some point but I will wait for this Tempurpedic to need replacing. I know that Tempurpedic isn’t even close to the best according to most, but if the TempurPedic for me was a 10/10, the Zinus wasn’t far behind. Maybe an 8.5 or 9 in comparison. You can’t beat that for being close to a tenth of the price.
Ok i literally JUST went through this exact situation and resolved it! I could have written your original post We have a medium-soft tempurpedic bed from Costco and lately I’ve connected that my back pain is being caused by it being too soft. I also was sleeping on the couch recently because my husband was sick and I was trying to avoid catching it, and also noticed it helped my back pain. I got a 3” medium latex topper from sleep on latex a few days ago, and I swear in one single night sleeping on it, I went from barely being able to change positions in bed without intense back pain, to my pain being COMPLETELY GONE the next morning. It feels like magic and now I’m obsessed with this latex topper and will tell anyone who will listen how amazing it is 😂
I've tested more than 100 mattresses, and if I had $2,000, I'd get the Tempur-Cloud. It does an amazing job of contouring to your body, but not everyone loves the Tempur foam. My runner-up would be the Leesa Sapira.
I love Tempurpedic. As a mattress reviewer, I've slept on three models. My favorite is the Cloud, but they all have the Tempur foam, which I've found does an amazing job of contouring to your body. But, it isn't for everyone. Some people are off put by it. I have found they're durable, and the warranty does cover indentation up to 0.75 inches. Most other warranties I've seen are 1.5 inches. https://preview.redd.it/on974f7l5shg1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=afc7505ebfbc5d8491eadf11263f2be8cf3474f3
I’m just not sure any of them are meant to last anymore. I’m a back sleeper, and we ended up giving our kid our Tempurpedic cloud which I loved, because I needed an adjustable base. Our old mattress was at least 10 or more years old, and still has plenty of life. The cheaper memory foams we have in the other bedrooms don’t seem that great. I bought a split king through Costco, and it has a medium and soft side (also the adjustable base). The soft side isn’t too soft, the medium was a bit firmer than we liked. I think it’s Sleep Science. So we’ve had it almost two years, and so far, it seems to be holding up. I’ve read that Tempurpedics aren’t what they used to be. And most mattresses are not made to be forever. They have a definite end point, esp spring mattresses.
Temperpedic cloud from Costco
Also going to agree with another person that s Tempurpedic is hot in summer and in winter it turns so hard and lumpy from cold. I had one a Cloud. Never buy another one
I purchased the cloud. It was so hot to sleep on.
