SO... we had a Tempur Cloud Supreme from 2012 that we loved but it had definitely seen better nights by this point , we decided to go a different route when we replaced it last month. We chose a Sealy Posturpedic. We found it very comfortable in the store. Suffice it to say... we returned it this past weekend and have a Tempur ProAdapt coming this weekend to replace it. I think those that love Tempur mattresses will have a hard time replacing it with anything else. Just my 2cents.

I previously had a Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme and I loved that mattress. Had it for 10 years and should have fought for it in my divorce. When I moved out on my own in 2020, I got a Helix Midnight Luxe and was happy with the mattress. My fiancé and I are now looking for a replacement for his king size mattress. We visited to the closest Tempur-Pedic store and liked the Luxe Adapt Soft, but I just wasn't ready to spend that much on a mattress, so we waited a little while and decided to give Helix another try. We recently purchased another Midnight Luxe, but it was sooo much firmer than the mattress I purchase back in 2020. We are in the process of returning that mattress and received our Tempur-Pedic Luxe Adapt Soft on Saturday, but it doesn't feel anything like the model we tested. I don't feel like the mattress conforms to my shape like the Cloud Supreme. The entire mattress just caves around me and I can feel my hip bone hitting something hard. I'm obviously going to give the mattress some time, but I think we'll be going back to the Tempur-Pedic store to test out some other mattresses... Edit to add... WHY DID TEMPUR-PEDIC STOP MAKING THE CLOUD SUPREME??????!!!

So my first "big boy" bed when I moved out was the Sealy Optimum Memory Foam when I first moved out. It was okay, but was too firm and I realized that I should have spent a bit more on the softer model. I worked at Sears in mattresses, and I got the deal of a lifetime for a brand new Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme Soft and Ergo Adjustable Base. I got them both for around $500 with tax. That was my taste of high end mattresses, and while it wasn't as soft as I would like, it was the BEST mattress I ever had. It lasted me right up until 2020 (10 years) which it was still fine... I was just convinced by my coworker to get a Sleep Number and use my one time 80% employee discount code for a new mattress. Which 80% off an $8,000 mattress sounded great, and they convinced me that it was better and I would sleep cooler which was my only complaint I had with Tempur. Well... it came and I stupidly said "Haul it away, I'm going to love my new Sleep Number.".... first night... I loathed that mattress. It was just a glorified air mattress, and that's all I could feel. It even felt firmer than my old Tempur. I regretted my choice, and was basically stuck with it. Sleep Number did give me a mattress topper to make my i8 even softer, but it still felt like an air mattress and just wasn't comfortable. When I got a job at Casper Mattress, after a few months of working I got a free Original Mattress. Which felt better than Sleep Number, but was firmer than I liked. So I used the topper Sleep Number gave me to at least make it work. Still wasn't perfect, but at least I could turn on my side without having to lift myself up and feel the whole mattress move. When Casper did a contest for a free Wave Hybrid Snow, I went rabid. I knew my luck was awful and that I would lose, but I had a plan. I would sell so much for the next two months that Casper would feel bad and give me the Wave Hybrid Snow. I legit told every customer that there's a contest, and even if they don't want to buy a mattress but wanted to buy a pillow or sheet set, not to do it online but come see me. I was the number one sales person for those two months.... and I did lose the contest. My manager did the math, I had an 87% chance of winning, and I lost to someone who literally had one ticket in the raffle. However, my plan worked. Casper gave me the Wave Hybrid Snow because one region didn't have anyone sell enough to even be entered in the raffle. So they gave me the one that would have been given to that region. The Wave Hybrid Snow was better, cooler and more comfortable to lay on. However, a year and a half later I had to do a warranty claim. Which Casper kind of put up a fight with because they said I won the mattress, so it was free. I pushed back, saying that it was a horrible defect and I was using their Adjustable Base Max (when I won the mattress I upgraded my adjustable base as well for the massage) and that the whole front end of the mattress caved in. Eventually, they replaced it. When I got a job working at Tempur-Pedic. I was toying with the idea of just upgrading to the LuxeBreeze Soft and the new ProSmart Adjustable Base. However, I didn't really have a reason and the Wave Hybrid Snow was fine. I didn't want to be one of those people who upgrade their mattress every year or two. Well, someone ran a red light a t-boned me. Totaled my Mustang, sent me to the ER from the scene of the accident, and I was in horrible condition. When I got home, my body just HATED my mattress. What was fine before just hurt, it felt like I was on a rock. I was in so much pain, that any pressure on my sides just hurt. So that was my excuse to just upgrade for the LuxeBreeze Soft. I have had my LuxeBreeze Soft since 2024 and it's been amazing. I don't wake up hot, I don't wake up in pain, I can fall asleep quicker than I ever did before. So long story short, yes... a really great mattress is worth it.

Nah, I just like helping people. I started right after high school, and I just liked working with people to find what works best for them. If I really wanted a job for the discounts, I would have got something in the home theater market because I love my Sony TVs… but I feel like I replace those just as easily because something better came out. 😂 I had the Sony A8G OLED, loved it… then Sony came out with a QD-OLED the A95K Master Series and I immediately upgraded to that. However, I really didn’t like that I constantly had to switch the HDMI settings to Enhanced Dolby Vision to Enhanced VRR. So when the newer A95L dropped… I upgraded to that. Now that Sony is coming out with an RGB MiniLED… I’m curious how good that performs… because I’ve been wanting to go from a 65” to a 75”. 😂

My grandparents absolutely love Stearns & Foster mattresses. While I do prefer my super soft Tempur-Pedic mattress, whenever we visit them in Arizona we all sleep great. Once again, I know I am the favorite grandchild because they recently replaced one of the guest bed mattresses with a soft hybrid Stearns & Foster. I would say if you are looking for a more traditional innerspring mattress, I would start with Stearns & Foster.

Tempur-Pedic mattresses are warrantied for ten years, but they can typically last between 12-15 years. I have seen plenty of customers who still have one from 18+ years ago. As someone with back pain after two car accidents, Tempur has been the only one that I could sleep on that actually helps take most of the pain away. The pain never really goes away unfortunately. I opted not to go for spinal disc replacement and instead go for a nerve ablation. Anyways, to answer you question. 1. At least 10 years, but can last longer than that. 2. No, you can not flip them. You can try rotating them if you feel like it may help. 3. That I can't answer, there are a lot of factors that go into recommending mattresses when it comes to someone's personal back pain. I can make some recommendations. If you wanted to stick with Tempur-Pedic I would look at the LuxeAdapt Medium Hybrid. If your okay with jumping ship, then I would look at the Sealy Elite Hybrid. The Sealy is zoned with extra coils that can add extra lift and support to the lower back. Both of those have a nice soft top that can give pressure relief. I wish you both the best of luck, and if you can think of any other questions, feel free to ask,

My last two mattresses were at vastly different price points and I honestly enjoyed both of them. I had a Zinus memory foam mattress, the one with green tea, for a total of 7 years. I loved it and the only reason I got rid of it was due to a size change. Right now I’m rocking a Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme and I also really like it. If you’re budget conscious though, I don’t think it’s worth it to splurge on this compared to the Zinus or any of its competitors. I have yet to get into the really high end stuff, or unique materials such as wool or latex. Maybe I will at some point but I will wait for this Tempurpedic to need replacing. I know that Tempurpedic isn’t even close to the best according to most, but if the TempurPedic for me was a 10/10, the Zinus wasn’t far behind. Maybe an 8.5 or 9 in comparison. You can’t beat that for being close to a tenth of the price.

We had an amazing Tempurpedic pillow top for 20 years that we replaced with a new Tempurpedic in 2021. It was like sleeping on a concrete slab. No matter what I tried to do with toppers I could not make it work. So three months ago we tested all the Saatvas at the store and went with the 15” RX. I am so happy we did. At first you do have to get used to going back to a bit of a bounce you don’t get with memory foam but since we sleep so deeply it’s not an issue. It’s not like the old springs style bed type bounce. The mattress stays cool and we sleep great. My husband has chronic lower back pain and I am a side sleeper who needs shoulder and hip support. We are both super happy so far.
