Get the luxe breeze firm. I am at 185lbs. Low back issues. Used the medium hybrid and in 2 occasions due to bumps on the side of the mattress, I had to file warranty claims, and both got approved. I would feel hips sinking in the middle of the night and woke up with constant low back pain. Switched for the firm and yes , the first month it will be firm but at your weight , it should get better. The firm keeps my back properly aligned and no more pain. Sleeping perfect now.

Yes. You read that well. After reading a lot about it, the firm on the luxe breeze is considered a medium firm, not precisely a firm after is broken down 6-7. If you go to a store. Lay down on the luxe breeze firm and you will notice is not as scary as the word firm. Now if you get a pro adapt, the medium would be better because the firm on the pro adapt is a solid rock. Maybe for people weighing more than 230 The medium hybrid luxe breeze is not as supportive as they make you think. Again, I am 185 and felt my hips sinking and low back pain every single morning.

My husband and I bought one of these in 2021. The first time we slept on it, the next morning my body hurt like literally everywhere and I was terrified we made a huge mistake. The second night, absolutely no problems and it felt great. I’d say the pros and cons are pretty spot on. It’s super comfortable but the cooling…. Ehh not really there. Especially if you use a mattress cover. Haven’t noticed any sagging or signs of wear. Molds perfectly to my body. Not too firm and not too soft, we love it to the point where we get sad when we have to travel and can’t sleep in our own bed.

Buying a mattress online always feels like a leap of faith. My wife and I have taken that leap more times than we can count, and for years, we kept ending up disappointed. We’ve spent thousands chasing comfort through big-name brands that looked perfect in reviews but fell short once we actually slept on them. My wife has been dealing with lumbar nerve pain for over a year, which means comfort isn’t optional for her. She spends long stretches in bed where every detail matters. I’m a side sleeper who gets upper back pain if a mattress isn’t perfectly balanced. Finding one that worked for both of us felt impossible. Then we tried Puffy. Our first mattress was the Puffy Royal, and right away it felt different. It was soft yet supportive, plush but balanced, and stayed cool through the night. For the first time, we thought we might finally be done searching. When it arrived, I noticed a few long threads and small stitching inconsistencies on the cover. They didn’t affect comfort or performance, but being detail-oriented, I asked if it was normal. I even posted about it here on Reddit and got roasted for nitpicking, which was fair. People were right that it was purely cosmetic. Still, I decided to reach out to Puffy just to see what they’d say. I expected a short response telling me it was normal and nothing to worry about. Instead, they took the feedback seriously. They explained that their factory team would run extra quality checks and send a replacement to make sure everything met their standards. They also mentioned they’d use my feedback to improve their internal inspection process going forward. That level of care over something so minor completely changed how I viewed the company. When the new Puffy Monarch arrived, it was clear they followed through. The build quality was excellent with clean stitching, smooth edges, and a refined finish that felt premium. Once we started sleeping on it, we both realized how much better it was than anything we’d tried before. The Monarch is easily the most comfortable mattress we’ve owned. For me as a side sleeper, the pressure relief is outstanding. My shoulders and upper back finally feel supported without stiffness or sinking. My wife, who’s a combination sleeper, says it adapts perfectly no matter how she moves. It’s soft and cloudlike while still maintaining structure and stability. She describes it as “melting into the bed,” and for her nerve pain, that balance between comfort and support has been life changing. The motion isolation is excellent. My wife moves a lot at night, and I barely feel it anymore. Even the edge support holds up surprisingly well for a plusher mattress, giving it a consistent, stable feel across the surface. We track our sleep using an Eight Sleep Pod 5, and the improvement was immediate. (Even with minimal break-in time) Our sleep scores went up by about 30%. We’re sleeping longer, getting deeper sleep, and waking up less. My wife now wakes up pain-free, and for the first time in years, I sleep through the night. The sense of relief that comes with that is hard to put into words. I will be curious how if this pans out long-term but so far our early results have been promising. ⸻ **The Long Road That Got Us Here** **Tempur-Pedic Luxe Breeze** This one was supposed to be the gold standard, a $5,500 mattress marketed as the best of the best. For the first few months, it felt fine, but within a year it sagged badly on one side. When I filed a warranty claim, the process turned into a nightmare. They made me take endless photos and measurements, only to deny the claim because one picture was “slightly crooked.” I pushed back, but they refused to budge. That was the first time I realized that a high price tag doesn’t guarantee a company will stand behind its product. **Casper Snow Max** The Casper started off promising but quickly became uncomfortable. Both my wife and I developed back pain, and no matter how we adjusted, we couldn’t get a restful night’s sleep. It also slept much hotter than advertised, which made nights miserable. When we tried to return it, Casper’s customer service completely ghosted us. We sent multiple follow-ups that went unanswered for weeks until I finally escalated. What made it worse was that this mattress was purchased directly from Casper, not a retailer. **Purple Restore Premier** Purple initially felt innovative with its grid and coil design, but the comfort didn’t last long. It was far too firm for us, and we both started waking up sore and restless. Then one of the coils on the right side began squeaking loudly. When we went to return it, Purple tried to charge several hundred dollars in return fees that were never clearly disclosed on their website. After multiple follow-ups, the fee was eventually waived, but it shouldn’t have taken that much effort to return a defective mattress. (Maybe they’re more transparent about this now, but I haven’t verified.) **Helix Midnight Elite**  This one was the breaking point for us. We paid extra for the CoolForce upgrade, which was clearly branded on the cover, but when I unzipped the mattress, that cooling layer wasn’t there at all. Another mattress with the same configuration did include it, but it was so poorly assembled that it looked like a failed craft project. Thin cooling strips were glued unevenly to the foam, adhesive was smeared across layers, and parts of the cover were stuck to the wrong sections. Whether intentional or not, it was misleading to charge for materials that were missing or improperly applied. When I reached out to Helix, there was no real investigation or accountability. Their replies were generic and dismissive. For a brand that’s hyped so heavily online, the lack of care and transparency was shocking. — After all that, Puffy stood out for one simple reason. They didn’t have to do more, but they did anyway. They treated my concern seriously, acted quickly, and used the experience to improve their process. That kind of accountability is rare. Puffy reminded me what good customer service actually looks like. They listened, they followed through, and they handled everything with genuine care. After this experience, I have full confidence that if we ever need to use their lifetime warranty, they’ll handle it with the same level of respect and attention. Many companies talk about delivering great customer experiences, but Puffy is one of the few that actually does. I’m sure this post will ruffle a few feathers to brand loyalists but I just thought I’d share our experience in case it helps someone else. No sponsored links here - this was simply our personal experience, but it’s been second to none. Puffy has been a rare bright spot in a long and frustrating search, and it’s one of the few companies we genuinely feel we can trust after being burned too many times. While their mattresses are probably not for everyone (especially the DIY latex builders or those who don’t like a memory foam feeling), I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them if you’re looking for a company that actually stands behind their products. **TLDR:** After years of trying and returning “premium branded” mattresses like Tempur-Pedic, Casper, Purple, and Helix, every single one let us down. Then came Puffy. They took a small cosmetic concern seriously, ran extra QA checks, upgraded the mattress, and even used the feedback to improve their internal processes. The Puffy Monarch has been life changing for us, especially for my wife, who has been living with nerve pain for over a year. [https://imgur.com/a/06CAEY2](https://imgur.com/a/06CAEY2)

We had the Tempurpedic Luxe Breeze Soft. It was still felt kind of firm though. I had several Tempurpedic models before it which were fine but the Luxe Breeze was developing a visible sag on one side. It was very frustrating and outright disappointing dealing with their warranty team for that one. I definitely don’t work for Puffy, I’m in tech. 🤓

My top of the line breeze was sagging in 11 months and the company refused warranty. Never again.

Hi all, I bought a LuxeAdapt Queen in like 2020. A couple years into it, I want to say late 2022 maybe, the back pain was so bad. And VERY long story short, I was actually able to return the mattress under warranty. The LuxeAdapt ran very hot and I hated that too, but it was the back pain that did me in. So when I got approved for my warranty, I paid (after taxes and shipping) another $1,600+ to move 'up' to the LuxeBreeze Queen. Soft. Soft because it was HARD. And the firm was insanely hard. I want my lower back not to suffer, but I also didn't want to sleep on a rock. Well, you guessed, the LuxeBreeze sags at my hips and my back pain is UNBEARABLE. No hyperbole. I could barely walk for a few days the past couple weeks. Per various posts I've seen, I've taken to shoving pillows and things under the weak areas of the sagging mattress. That sort of helps if you get it right- kind of sort of but not really (I would happily accept anyone's 'formula' for doing this successfully if you've been in the same situation). So I have now submitted another warranty request. I'm praying it goes through. But even then, am I gonna be back in this situation again in two years? This has become stupid. I think the LuxeBreeze might be the only tolerable line for me because these mattresses are SO damn hot for me-- and even the LuxeBreeze gets way too hot for me. But it's more tolerable than the heat of the (otherwise WAY more comortable) LuxeAdapt-- when it's new. Between the adjustable base and upgrading to the LuzeBreeze, this bed is close to a $7,000 investment. That has caused me significant pain. I'm so mad. But also, I am not in any kind of financial situation to buy a new mattress of any variety. So IF I get this warranty approved... do I just suck it up and try to go with... I guess the LuxeBreeze firm? Or maybe the LuxeAdapt firm and get another Ooler-like cooling pad (I had one and it broke down-- I must have bad bed karma)? I've also read that the ProAdapt Firm is the firmest of all of TP's mattresses and I might do well with that. Minus the heat situation. So I'd have to get a cooling pad of some variety. Anyone familiar with that one? For information, I'm a pretty athletic guy at 6'1", a very muscular 210. I lift weight, do yoga, swim, hike. I guess I'm a kind of bigger guy, technically, but big as in muscular. This seems stupid to me that I'm being put through this. For this massive amount of money, no less. I've read some people in my situation ask the delivery guys to leave the new TP mattress that comes via warranty in the box/plastic/whatever. They then sell it. And then buy something else entirely. I'm skeptical I could get anything close to the mattress's true value selling it online. Seems like I'd have to time it perfectly-- sell it and get the new mattress that day. TL;DR, Here's the point. Here on my second Tempur pedic mattress that is throttling my lower back, could I do better with yet a THIRD different TP mattress type? Anyone else been through this? ANY AND ALL INSIGHT from those who have been through this is wildly appreciated. Thanks.

I went into a Tempur-pedic flagship store today and laid on the LuxeBreeze Firm and the LuxeBreeze Medium Hybrid. I immediately liked how I felt on the hybrid. Immediately. I wanted to go to sleep. BUT I could. feel a little twinge in my (admittedly already sore from my TP at home) lower back. I laid on the firm for over 5 minutes and didn't have that relaxed feeling but had no pain or 'twinge' of any kind in my back. I'm a little torn. Also, I didn't find the firm to be as "rock-like" as many of told me to expect it to be. I just feel like the guys above who said the foam is cheaper than it used to be and it breaks down more than it used to are likely right (they sure in the case of my first two beds). And I might do well to try something actually different. Anyway, thanks for weighing in, you guys. I do appreciate it.

Well, I'm VERY happy to report, after A LOT was asked of me for this warranty (additional video, photos, etc.) that my warranty request was approved. I think I'm going to take your advice (and u/BridgesAreBurning) because you're both retailers. So you must know more than the average user. And you both suggest the LuxeBreeze Medium Hybrid. I was really vascillating between the hybrid and the firm. I thought about the ProAdapt for extra firmness, but these beds are SO hot for me, even the LuxeBreeze is warm for me. I will say that u/Best_Recover4037 above made some good points and it sounds like we're in VERY similar situations and body types. With similar pains caused by hip sinking in TP mattresses (I'm a big muscular guy at 6'1 and 210 and a side sleeper). So I'm nervous moving onto my third TP mattress. But I went into a TP flagship store and honestly loved the way the hybrid felt. I wanted to go to sleep immediately. And you guys are the pros. So... again, THANK YOU for the expert advice. And thank you to everyone, even if I took different advice.than the advice you offered. Here's hoping the third time's a charm...Appreciate you guys.

So far so good! I mean, my first two Tempur mattresses took a couple years to become pain machines. But this 'break-in' period has been slower and less dramatic in terms of where the break-in ends up. I'm actually loving it so far. And I'm hoping it just doesn't 'break-in' any further from where it is. There's give, but it's still relatively firm in the best way. If the bed were to stay this way, it's kind of my dream bed I think. That said I'm single, so I guess I can switch sides and break the other side in if I need to. Haha. You looking for a mattress? As much as I'm having a "third time's a charm," if it were me, it wouldn't go TP again. They run hot. They break down. And even when you manage to get the mattress replaced under warranty (as I have done twice), you STILL pay... I forget how much it was... I think like $275 or something insane… for the "white glove" delivery of the damn thing. That's you getting it "free." So I've spent, what? More than $500 replacing two mattresses that caused me months of agony just to get back to NOT having my $6,000+ bed investment make me rue life? I've heard great things about Sleep Number...

So you got TWO medium hybrid mattresses and had to return them both? Did I understand that correctly? Sounds like you and I are in very similar situations. This is actually really helpful. I LIKED the LuxeBreeze until I woke up in pain. I think I just need it to break down less. Logically, it seems like the firm would be the way to go.

Thanks for the feedback. But if you look through this thread, you'll see some real hybrid detractors. And I've heard that elsewhere too-- that the hybrid coils break down even more readily than the foam. I'm starting to think the LuxeBreeze Firm is gonna be the thing. I am a side sleeper, but it just seems like a matter of the breaking-in period. And then hopefully after that, it takes much more to make the firm sink the the point my soft LuxeBreeze has done? I don't know.

Oh, okay. I have a waterproof one I use (because of using the Ooler cooling bed pad), but I'm surprised it's such a common thing. I've heard many TP owners say they don't like using anything except the cover it comes with because it defeats the 'feel' of the memory foam as well as the cooling (in the case of the LuxeBreeze which is what I have). My LuxeBreeze gets hot after about 20 minutes anyway and the waterproof protector I use actually helps mitigate the heat a lot. But I digress. Anyway, thanks for getting back.

I'm a side sleeper so the zero gravity position just doesn't work for me for sleep. I have REALLY tried. I can even knock myself out with high doses of melatonin, but then-- and I'm not kidding-- from the zero gravity position, I somehow find the bed remote on the night stand in my sleep and lower the bed to flat. I wake up in a flat position not knowing how i got there. Sleeping on my side.

I'm a side sleeper. But I'm hearing a whole lot of negative reviews from people about the hybrids breaking down quickly and also causing a lot of pain. See the post in this thread from the 110 person and her story about this very thing. There are enough stories like this that give me pause. I'm not sure. This may all be moot as I still have to see if TP even approves my second warranty claim. And I hope they approve it for the CURRENT price of the same model not the price from several years ago. Anyone know about that? I guess I'll find out.

You're the third retailer (so, an expert) here recommending the luxebreeze medium hybrid. So that's what I've decided to do. Thanks for taking the time!

I think I've earned the same the opinion of Tempur pedic. Sadly. Going through this stupid warranty process now. They want more pix, more blablabla. I'm thinking "Your bed is literally injuring me. REPLACE THIS." But I smile and comply. So that I can get... I think I'm gonna try the luxebreeze hybrid. And I just got a replacement Ooler mattress pad cooler. Thank GOD. The only way i survived the Tempur pedics. Cheers on the happier, sexier bed. Hope it holds up for you. Random aside, if your screenname is meaningful, I'm a composer too. Nice to connect.

my wife and i have had our soft tempur-pedic luxe breeze for about 6 months and it’s one of the best purchases we’ve ever made. unbelievably comfortable, great cooling technology, and it gets better every night. 10/10 would recommend

i think tempur is the best mattress out of the 3. tempur is going to have the longest break-in period of the 3, and tempur has one of the best warranties on the market. definitely don’t spend any amount of money on something that you haven’t been able to test out in person. try a cali king if you have the chance and you haven’t already. my wife and i have a tempur luxebreeze in the soft feel and we absolutely love it.
