Best firm mattress I ever had was a tempurpedic from about 10 years ago, I got the medium firm due to a serious back injury, and that was as perfect of a bed I’ve ever experienced. It was absolutely bliss to sleep on.
This is my story! Side-sleeper with an expensive memory foam mattress (Tempurdic) is killing my back.
Don't know how anyone can say that a memory foam mattress like tempurpedic is "best" without caveats. If you're in a hot climate it's ridiculously hot because memory foam retains the heat. Be ready to run your HVAC several degrees cooler just to have it feel like a normal mattress. I also found them (have owned 2) to cause lower back pain. It's said that since the hips are the heaviest part of the body, they sink in more, which puts you out of alignment. That is how I feel whenever I sleep on something else for a couple nights, then the Tempurpedic. I made a DIY latex mattress that I like infinitely more. I would try some mattresses in stores, and maybe order something with a free return policy. If you don't love it, return it.
I’m a side sleeper with spinal stenosis. I can only sleep on my Tempur-Pedic mattress (medium firmness) My back hurts on any other bed.
Tempurpedic, they have a mattress with cooling layer it gets too cool for me in the winter for for summer it’s perfect
I'm currently sleeping on the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever owned and it was nearly $5000 (king sized tempur-pedic). I'm glad you found something comfortable for such a low price. I'll never spend this kind of money again on a mattress.
We had a Tempur-Pedic 20 or so years that was fantastic till about 18 years, then became too soft. We bought another one last year and plan on another 20 great years with it. It's very comfortable and we don't feel each other moving at all. We have a split cal-king. Hope you find what you need.
I had 2 temperpedics, both amazing, medium firmness. But if i could do all over, id probably get a sleepnumber. I like the idea of changing firmness whenever i want, so kinda wish i got that. The split one though.
Build one at latex matress factory. Very high quality material. A firm/med/soft with 3x3" layers is a common starting point and you can customize it from there with an additional layer if you want to fine tune it. Once you have the feel right just get a cover The full mattresses are just made by gluing together the toppers, by the top is yourself and build the consistency that you're after. It lets you build a completely custom bed exactly how you want it for a reasonable price All the beds in a box are junk, it's not possible to have a high foam density and compact it like that. Even Tempur-Pedic isn't that great anymore, I went through a couple of those before I did a custom build at latex mattress factory. I've had this bad since 2019 and the top layer is just now starting to get a little bit soft, it's still fine but in a couple years I may replace it, the nice thing about that, I get to rebuild my bed by just swapping out one layer. It's a few hundred bucks rather than a whole new mattress
Hubby and I have Tempur-pedic and hate it. My son has a Casper and loves it. My husband has had naps on my son’s Casper and loves it. We’re both side sleepers mainly. I toss and turn with hip pain. I feel every time my husband rolls over.
