I'm looking for a mattress that doesnt cost 2k plus, I went in-store to try out which firmness I like, and i really loved the tempurpedic adapt medium firmess, i dont believe it was the hybrid, is there any options that compare to that memory foam tempur uses, I was also looking online for dreamcloud, nectar, and some others?
Did you get the regular Adapt or the Pro Adapt? I’ve been very happy with my Tempurpedic, but it’s run its course. I’m leaning towards another one.
Thank you! Going to try a few out before I buy- but that’s never the same as when you actually sleep on it.
TempurPedic is not memory foam. Its a proprietary material that is ventilated unlike normal memory foam. It also holds its shape much longer than memory foam.
Yeah, no. Tempur is technically in the memory foam family, but it’s like comparing a luxury car to a broken down beater. They both have engines, right? I guarantee you are lying about the VP saying they despec'd their material. Otherwise, name job or indicate which region this "vp" is in.
Another vote for Eva. I had the Comfort Classic originally, but needed to get a mattress for the spare room. Ended up getting the Premium Adapt and moving the classic to the spare room. I think I like the classic more.
Temperpedic for me was horrible. I've been sleeping on memory foam for years. That was the hottest sleeping mattress I've ever slept on. I returned it thank you Costco.
It's definitely not ventilated at least the adapt version. It's a premium memory foam. The more your body sinks the hotter you get. Returned that heat trap. Middle of January and my temp is 64 degrees Fahrenheit and I'm covered in sweat. Just a light blanket and gym shorts with bamboo sheets. Back to my old memory foam and I'm sleeping cooler
I’ve had my Tempur-Pedic for 2-3 yrs now. I started with the Adapt Medium and it was too firm. For me it was like sleeping on a bed of rocks. Did the exchange and traded up to the Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid. While the claim is more pressure relief it’s still too firm for me. Wake up every morning achy and sore. So then I brought the mattress topper. Too soft and it sinks lol. It’s going to be different for everyone. I’ve been hesitant to do a soft mattress as I need proper spine alignment due to a bulging disc. So I’m on the hunt for a new one. I actually like sleep by numbers but have concern there also.
You can definitely find a quality long lasting mattress for 3k or less, if you go with the S&F lux estate it’ll likely be a bit more than that, even with the Presidents’ Day sale. In my experience Tempur-Pedic is the longest lasting & their Adapt line is around $2500 for a queen & $3000 for a king. Although if you’re interested in S&F you might prefer a more traditional mattress. I do recommend purchasing through Mattressfirm because we actually do have a pretty good warranty process if your mattress does fail or sag. These days the more expensive mattresses typically have more cooling technology, so if you’re not a hot sleeper you can definitely get a good mattress that will last between $1,000-$2,000 for a queen & $1500-$2500 for a King. If you are a hot sleeper I recommend increasing your budget & getting something good, Ik most people don’t want to spend a lot on a mattress but I really do think sleep is worth it. Whether you get it from MF or not, I do recommend getting it from a mattress retailer that carries multiple brands. It’ll be your best chance at getting help if you need to make a warranty claim, & you won’t be stuck with that brand if you make a claim. Ultimately if you want it to last you’ll want a good waterproof breathable mattress protector & a good foundation.
Honestly based on that I would recommend at least trying Tempur-Pedic. The breeze line is the best for cooling, but will be way over budget for you. If you want to stick in your budget, adapt line might be the way to go. TP has excellent motion separation. If you’re not keen on the tempur-pedic, try out the Sealy posture pedic line as well. The ones with the dark blue covers have excellent cooling. If you decide to sacrifice cooling in the mattress to go for a more budget friends option I recommend investing in good cooling sheets & a cooling mattress protector.
We're very similar, but both a little heavier. We bought a temur-pedic adapt medium. We hated it after 100 days. It's being returned and we have a winkbed firm on the way.
