The only way you're going to get away from some motion transfer is by getting a decent coil system. The purple is absolutely one of the worst mattresses for motion transfer out there. Tempurpedic is really good at avoiding but you'll need to go up to the pro adapt soft line for your desired feel. You could also look at some of the Kingsdown mattress', Matt warehouse has a couple that could serve you well. Sunham or Wilcrest.

A couple weeks ago. Luxe pro adapt soft, because I am light and a side sleeper. I am not a thousand percent sure that I shouldn't have laid on more inner springs, but I got on the beautyrest black and a sterns and foster and a purple... I liked this one better. I laid on my side on it for a long time, the way I do at home working on my phone. My second favorite was the sterns and foster, but it didn't feel as supportive and I was worried about longevity since apparently nobody knows how to make an inner spring last more than a few years anymore. Which is really annoying. The very first and only bed that I bought as an adult was a traditional inner spring with a double pillow top... Whatever they made pillow tops with 25 years ago. That bed lasted fifteen years too. It was like sleeping on a cloud, but not in one. It was complete perfection. Better than this one, although i'm comparing a memory to now and my body was much younger back then and lacking chronic pain

Hello, a couple months ago I purchased a tempurpedic Pro adapt 2 from Gardner White. It is the foam mattress, and I immediately had buyer's remorse. I've slept on it 2 months now, and am looking to exchange. What are your thoughts on King Koil or Aireloom NS 2000? I'm a side sleeper, and prefer a firmer mattress. I'm reading reviews about Aireloom that it can start sagging after a year or too, and it's an expensive mattress (over 3K!). Appreciate any feedback. I have to exchange the mattress with one of GW's products.

r/MattressA different approach to this sub - if you have a mattress you actually like, what is the make/model?

Friends have a tempurpedic proadapt non hybrid they are obsessed with. My husband and I were equally overwhelmed with options + we have wildly different preferences in firmness. We'd done our own trials and nothing stuck so we tried that one. We liked it but ended up going with the probreeze in a medium hybrid because we wanted a little more cooling and liked the hybrid feel better than pure foam. Very happy with it.

r/BedroomBuildWhat’s the best mattress for back pain that actually helps long term?

Tempurpedic soft. It’s a myth you need a firm mattress. Helps my back soooo much

With your size and weight, finding something supportive but not too firm can be a challenge. You might have to try quite a few mattresses - in stores and using trial periods.  I’m 5’3” and ca. 120 pounds, and lots of mattress trials over the last 3 years taught me that most mattresses labelled “medium-firm” and many mattresses labelled “medium”  feel either painfully hard or actually too soft (when there are thicker comfort layers and my body isn’t heavy enough to “interact” with the support layer). So here’s what I learned - of course not everything will apply to you: 1) mattresses for teenagers / children can be more suitable although they’re often thinner than mainstream mattresses for adults; definitely worth a try. 2) a mattress for a lightweight adult needs to be of a softer firmness throughout (not just a soft comfort layer). This is more expensive to make, or at least make well, and mostly it’s higher-end mattress makers that bother with it (eg Vispring). 3) what can work is a simple mattress with “medium” pocket springs or coils (not “medium-firm”!) plus a high-quality foam topper, eg Tempuroedic or soft Talalay latex. 4) Memory foam: Dormeo has some medium-soft mattresses in your price range; however, medium-soft usually means a thicker layer of soft memory foam & too much sinkage for your taste; I didn’t like it in the end.   The current Emma hybrids are relatively soft and can work for lightweight sleepers;  I didn’t like the feel of how the foam compressed   A Tempurpedic “soft” might have the right feel and support; their outlet store sometimes has mattresses in your price range or just a bit over 5) non-memory polyfoam: can be amazing if it has just the right density. Over decades of mattress troubles I only had one type of polyfoam mattress that felt just right for me (German company). 6) Latex: can be amazing for petite bodies. I currently sleep on an all-latex mattress, 6” medium dunlop, 2” soft talalay. This is better than anything else I tried; still feel there’s a bit too much push back (what makes it feel too firm) and will try an altogether softer setup.

r/MattressWhat mattress would yall recommend for a hybrid stomach/ side sleeper? I sometimes sleep flat on my belly, sometimes on my side, cuddling my wife or a pillow. Most of the time I sleep with one leg up with my knee bent, when I cuddle a pillow, I normally have one leg over it while laying on my side.

It only comes in one firmness and I'd say it's a true medium. You don't sink into it like tempur. I tried the tempur pro adapt in soft and it was too firm for me so you are probably fine. I personally don't like the slow responsive memory foam, it always ended up giving me pain.

We bought one of the original Tempur Pedic mattresses about 27-28 years ago. They were new - no one had ever heard of it. Bought at Healthy Back store in DC area. The temper material was used in the space shuttle and fighter jets as I recall. To provide support under high G forces. Sucker weighed a ton! Moving the bed was all but impossible. You couldn’t flip it due to the design. But even rotating it 180° was a major two person job! It lasted so long. But recently I had started waking with back ache. Wife was fine. So not sure if it was the mattress or me. We just (within the last month) got a new Tempur Pedic (Proadapt) on an adjustable base vs foundation. Much lighter. (I’m sure much less Tempur material.) We love it! My back has not complained since. So happy to see that heavy mattress and foundation walk out the door - but it had unbelievably long service with incredibly comfort and support for so long. We knew we wanted another. Nice to see you had good long term experience too!
