Tempurpedic, I think 9 inch mattress. The commercials weren't lying, you really can set a drink on it and move around without it spilling.
Personally, I’m lucky because I own my own mattress store. Over the past 39 years, I’ve had the luxury of trying out some of the best sleep systems out there. Here is the list of what I’ve slept on over the years, in order: •Started with a hardside waterbed as a kid. Super Single Free flow. Nothing fancy, just good ol’ 80s comfort. •Moved on to a Super Single Semi-Waveless from US Watermattress. •Then came a Queen Feathertop 10 from Strobel in a hardside frame — really plush for a waterbed. •Got married and we slept on a Land and Sky Lullaby softside waterbed (dual 400 chambers Queen), •Later upgraded to a two-sided Lady Campbell 4000 Pillow Top. solid, flippable, and built to last. •Then bumped up to a King Lullaby dual pillow-top softside. Super adjustable for each of us. •We tried a Tempur-Pedic Classic King for a few years good support, comfy, but wife slept hot. •Next up was a Pure Talalay Bliss Nature 10” latex with a 2” dual-firmness topper, 1 side plush, 1 side firm. That was a game changer. •Current setup: King-size Relax from Posh + Lavish Restore mattress, still using that with our 2” dual-firmness Pure Talalay Bliss topper. Incredible comfort, breathability, and great support. To address your Avocado, good materials, but that “medium” firmness is a gamble. It really depends on your body type and sleep preferences. Medium can feel too firm for lighter folks or side sleepers, too soft for heavy back/stomach sleepers. If you want long-term comfort and durability, I’d recommend: •All-latex or hybrid latex beds (Talalay or Dunlop) •Two-sided flippable innerspring options for longevity •Perhaps consider a well built softside waterbed if you’re open to it (super underrated these days)
I have used a tempurpedic classic for over ten years no problem but decided it was time to get a new one. We have two other Nectar mattresses for back sleepers but I was assured that as a side sleeper I could use it also. Nope! After three months of back pain I began the painstaking return to them under the 100 day satisfaction. After almost a month of back and forth with them it was picked up by Sharetown for reuse and I’m still waiting for my refund. Don’t use Nectar. Each time I asked for the update a different person answered me and offered me all kinds of “upgrades” to fix my problem with their mattress. I finally had to dispute with my credit card and then they relented and offered me the full refund for the mattress. Still waiting for payment though. Too much trouble. Bought another temperpedic and it is so far awesome. No back pain. Once you find a mattress you like don’t ever change as sleep and comfort are too important in your life.
Still sleeping on my 22 yr old Tempur 8" Classic. Still feels great and supports me properly. 165 lb male side sleeper. I remember 1st night on it. It was winter and had been open on frame most of day after delivery that morning. MBR is always 3-4 degrees coolet than rest of home. That's good for sleeping. I prefer around 60 degrees. Not realizing the reaction temp has on MF at the time, when me and wife laid down it felt as if we were laying on our concrete driveway. Being new and not broke in contributed to firmness also. We said what have we done ? Then as body heat reaction and break-in occurred during trial, it softened up and we began to love it. I don't think they are the same quality today. I think the Sealy-Tempur merger changes were made to foams ?
I appreciate the attributes of 100% natural latex, but after sleeping on my Tempur Classic MF mattress for 22 yrs that is still great at support and pressure relief for my side sleeping, doubtful that I would ever try to adjust to the springy, bouncy, push back of latex rubber. I prefer the sink in comforming non push back of MF. I would never buy a current Tempur at their price. They are not made to the standards of my Classic. This is the MF I will consider when replacement time arrives. They offer a 5lb MF. I just recently replaced a 15 year old Tempurpedic classic mattress with a Sealy hybrid Walsh mattress that I purchased from Sam's Club. I too had chronic back pain every morning. The new mattress seems to have been my solution. I did have some shoulder fatigue the first couple of nights, however, the back pain was gone pretty much immediately. Sealy had this mattress listed as medium but it's closer to firm. I would say that it was a great purchase and replacement. Good Luck.
You need to lay on a bed for like 20 minutes. I know that sounds awkward, but you'll start to feel your pressure points. I love my tempur pedic bed and have had it for 10 years. Cost per use makes it affordable!
We bought a temper pedic split king adjustable mattress. Very comfortable, but we hated the split king. Put it in the guest room and bought a Stearns and Foster King. Also very nice. Our guest bed is now our sick/recovery bed.
I had rotator cuff surgery - sorry for you! I have a Tempur-Pedic with an adjustable base. I also like Purple. For me, soft is better.
I have a Tempur-Pedic. I use a mattress cover I bought on Amazon. I use a heating pad every day - no issues. The heating pad has an automatic shut off, so it’s not on all night. No heat marks or stains. My bed is around five years old. I have two covers so I can switch them out when I do laundry. I have cats - they’re not allowed to touch my bed without a cover on it. I would die if one of them harfed on it when I was doing laundry.
Firm Tempur-Pedic (adjustable base) with a 3 inch (cooling) topper - best bed I’ve ever had by far. I’ve had a bad back for years and this thing keeps me sleeping like a baby with no pain when I wake up. I didn’t understand people “loving” their beds until I got this one. Bought it 3 years ago and it’s like new. Zero sagging and super sturdy. Since I use a topper and mattress protector, I imagine I’ll get more than the typical 10 years out of it.
We have a split king temperpedic with an adjustable base and love the sleeping aspect. Bad things are no cool patterns for sheets and sheets are very expensive, no suitable bed frames so hard to have a nice bedroom furniture vibe, and the gap makes sex weird sometimes. The bed was also like $10k. We've had it for 5 years and I dont regret it at all.
