I’ve purchased 3 Zinus mattresses now (I sold the first two because of long distance moves) and I love them. The one I purchased is the 10” Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam. It’s what I’d consider medium firmness. I’ll keep buying them because I’ve never paid more than $350 CAD and it’s unheard of to get a good mattress in Canada for that price. I don’t think it’ll cost less than $1000 but I’ve also owned a Casper mattress and it was a damn nice mattress. I purchased the Zinus after the Casper and while I wouldn’t necessarily say they’re the same quality, I had zero complaints about the “downgrade”. Note: I’m on the petite side but I’m an average weight, so I have no clue whether a larger human would also find that this mattress holds up as well as I have. My previous partner liked the mattress as well as he was a solid 240 so 🤷🏻♀️
I got a foam mattress on amazon for like $250 7 years ago and it's my favourite mattress of all time, and would be basically perfect except that it's a bit warm. Pretty sure it was a 10" zinus
Zinus 10 inch off amazon. First slept on one in an airbnb. Replaced the one at home with it.
I got a zinus 10" from amazon 10/10. If you need/life a softer bed get a platform with Euro slats (curved) they have give. Look at Ikea wood slat bases if your unsure what they look like.
id recommend Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam.
My last two mattresses were at vastly different price points and I honestly enjoyed both of them. I had a Zinus memory foam mattress, the one with green tea, for a total of 7 years. I loved it and the only reason I got rid of it was due to a size change. Right now I’m rocking a Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme and I also really like it. If you’re budget conscious though, I don’t think it’s worth it to splurge on this compared to the Zinus or any of its competitors. I have yet to get into the really high end stuff, or unique materials such as wool or latex. Maybe I will at some point but I will wait for this Tempurpedic to need replacing. I know that Tempurpedic isn’t even close to the best according to most, but if the TempurPedic for me was a 10/10, the Zinus wasn’t far behind. Maybe an 8.5 or 9 in comparison. You can’t beat that for being close to a tenth of the price.
I had an expensive mattress that was plush and comfortable but I woke up every day stiff and tight. So I started sleeping in the guest room on our $200 queen Zinus Green Tea Firm and all my problems went away. I started sleeping deeper and waking refreshed so we put it in our bedroom. It's only been a few months so I can't speak to the longevity but holy cow I'm never spending that much on a mattress again when this bed exists
FWIW, I recently stayed in an Airbnb and slept on a Zinus mattress from 2018. Best night of sleep I’ve ever had, woke up with Zero aches or pains. Primarily a Side Sleeper with occasional stomach. I currently have an Amerisleep AS5 and while it’s held up great it’s too plush to provide the necessary back support I need. Prior to that I ordered a Casper which was unbearable and returned after 3 days. I went down a rabbit hole, multiple reviews and the reality is that everyone is different and therefore will have different results between mattresses. It’s honestly overwhelming, not in a good way, in the amount of companies and products out there. I decided it’s best to order something I had a great experience with. As someone wrote on this sub it’s worthwhile to consider a cheaper mattress, replacing it often than an expensive one which might be a gamble. I’ve also considered Costco for the return policy but saw that there are multiple negative reviews for all their products. I would say the best way is to try the mattress out as even if for a short while at a store, before blindly ordering one online.
I currently have the Sealy Mount Auburn purchased in 2021. I previously had a cheap Zinus MF, and it was definitely better in comparison. However, I found it to be quite firm and started the long journey of matress toppers to gain better pressure point relief for side sleeping. The matress is in perfect condition with no sagging, but after 4 years, I feel it's just not for me. It's not bad but not great. I highly recommend a sturdy wooden frame/foundation as it did improve my comfort level some. Buying from Costco is always a win with the service and return policies, so trying it is literally risk-free.
Way too hard - like sleeping on the floor
