r/tallBig and tall sleepers, what mattress are you using that actually holds up?

How are you wrecking mattresses so fast? I'm 6'5" and 315#, and my mattress is just starting to wear out after more than 10 years of continuous use. It's a cheap Spa Sensations 14" Gel-Infused Memory Foam unit from Wal-Mart (of all places).

I got a Spa Sensations memory foam + gel mattress about 10 years ago, and I really liked it. I think it's time for a replacement now because it's developing a bit of a divot, and I'm dreading the expenditure. I'm 6'5" and about 315 with a bad lower back.

My entire family is on Zinus mattresses. My wife and I have a 14 Inch king size hybrid mattress that we've been using for 7 years. We're looking to replace it probably next year, but it only cost us about $430. My Dad has had his gel memory foam for 5 years and he loves it. My kids both have had the standard memory foam mattresses, and their still solid. Not one of these mattresses We're over 500.

Ours came with an rv king but we put a regular zinus memory foam king and it fit fine. A bit longer at the feet but doable. And way more comfortable.

I've had a Zinus memory foam mattress-in-a-box for a couple of years, and I really like it. Got it at Amazon. Setup was easy and fast, and the smell as the mattress aired out wasn't bad.

I wouldn’t say a scam, but you definitely pay for their marketing. Wife’s a travel nurse and we move every 13 weeks. Slept on lots of beds and lots of toppers. A Zinus memory foam better from Amazon is often better than your favorite Bed in a box brand or Costco mattress. On the other hand those cheap serta types you get for $300-500 often do suck (in my experience). The difference in “quality materials” is more about off gassing than comfort. Not sure anyone would notice a difference between wool and a cashmere/horsehair blend. But neither suit my body better than a piece of memory foam

That’s good to hear! We made the mistake of trying a Zinus foam mattress out. Definitely not made to last. Began waking up with sore areas and decided to go back to a traditional mattress.

You should get a bed in a box from Amazon instead. I have purchased multiple Zinus brands and love them!

Buy it off Amazon. They're like 200-300 bucks. Zenus is really good.
