I suggest staying AWAY from firm and depending on your weight, possibly even staying away from medium firm. Depending on your weight, you might try the 12" Zinus Green Tea Cooling Memory Foam medium mattress. *If you order it direct from Zinus, they offer a 100 night guarantee We recently slept on this mattress for 60+days while in temporary housing and neither of us had back/hip issues and we slept amazing and solid through the nights. We are both lightweight (126 & 175lb) side sleepers. Also, our backs / hips never bother us when sleeping on Marriott brand hotel mattresses. Firm and medium firm traditional and memory foam mattresses have ALWAYS caused us problems. We have tried: -Traditional individually coiled firm Sealy Posturepedic -14" Medium Firm Novaform -12" Comfort Tech Serene (husband accidentally ordered firm instead of medium and we kept it instead of returning it) All those mattresses have caused us issues. I did further research and narrowed it down to needing either a medium Memory Foam or Medium Plush Hybrid. The medium plush hybrid would closer match what the hotels use so we're in the decision process of which to purchase.
Zinus from Amazon. I've had the same 12" memory foam model for 8 years, it's still in good shape.
ZINUS Memory Foam 12 Inch Green Tea Mattress from Amazon. It's so good; bought it in 2020 and still holding strong. Highly recommend!
I second this question! Our current mattress was actually highly recommended, but it is the worst mattress I have ever slept on, and I slept on a mattress with no support and springs sticking out growing up. It's literally causing ligament injuries, and my partner who doesn't have EDS wakes up in pain (whereas he didn't before) For anyone wondering, it's the Zinus 12 inch green tea memory foam mattress. Do not get it
I bought a 12” Zinus Green Tea queen mattress in May of 2017 and it’s still like brand new! I love it today as much as when it arrived! No deformities or weakening over the years and in 2020 I bought 2 more for my granddaughters. They love theirs as well have experienced no problems. Best mattresses we’ve ever owned!
Zinnus green tea cooling gel mattress from Amazon. Had a high end tempur-pedic cloud luxe for a lot of years. Loved it. Tried my son’s Zinnus when it was time to replace and bought one for a mere fraction of the price. I’m a side sleeper and have no issues. I replaced it once after 4-ish years but when I weigh the cost against the tempur-pedic I’m still legions ahead. Costco sheets. No blanket. It’s not hot. Have one in my RV now, too. FWIW.
I currently have the Sealy Mount Auburn purchased in 2021. I previously had a cheap Zinus MF, and it was definitely better in comparison. However, I found it to be quite firm and started the long journey of matress toppers to gain better pressure point relief for side sleeping. The matress is in perfect condition with no sagging, but after 4 years, I feel it's just not for me. It's not bad but not great. I highly recommend a sturdy wooden frame/foundation as it did improve my comfort level some. Buying from Costco is always a win with the service and return policies, so trying it is literally risk-free.
I’ve had a Zinus cooling mattress for going on 4 years now and I love it! I don’t overheat, it doesn’t sag, it’s supportive, and it costs around $300
