I have an eero 7 mesh system. The modem they rent is a Eero 7 Max I think, but it’s a single unit so you’d still need to purchase some to make a mesh. I think it’s better to have a decent mesh than a single high power router tucked away in a corner of your house. Honestly, it’s more than I need, but I opted for it as a balance of speed/future proofing and coverage for the house. The speed is very good, it was a breeze to set up, and I’ve had no issues so far.

I just replaced my old Google router mesh from 2019 with Eero 7 mesh. The speeds are much faster but has less stability. I really took Google router for granted, we had zero connection issues. With Eero I have at least 3 connections issues a week to fix. Garage keypad, kids iPad, smart light

5500 sq ft house. One eero 7. Works fine.

If you need multiple access points, and often need to move around while maintaining uninterrupted connections, then a wired backhaul mesh system is the ideal. I personally use eero, but most current mesh solutions are pretty decent.

I have a 7000 sqft house that’s adequately covered with 1 eero 7, just my internet speed near the router is 300mbps and at the farthest point away from it it’s like 20mbps, but it gets the job done

Yes, updating to a meshed solution will ensure smooth roaming throughout your house. I like the Eeros for two reasons: 1. It’s set and forget. There is very good logic built into it to better manage your airspace. 2. It’s compatible with all other generations of Eeors. Find a dead spot? Get a cheap, used Eero five from Facebook marketplace. As others have said, use ethernet wiring where you can. Between nodes and to individual devices. The reason being a wireless device looses 50% of available bandwidth for each wireless hop it takes to your Verizon router. Would you notice it on your cell phone? Probably not. Running a media server or gaming platform, probably so.

Eero 5 is an example I used to highlight the use of nodes that are two generations old. Eero 7s are the current generation. Still way over priced in my opinion. You will be happy with any Eero 6s.

Hmmm, there maybe something in the way blocking your signal like a hot water heater. Anyways… I like the Eero’s. The larger models come with meshed nodes that have ethernet ports to wire into your office devices. They also use a concept called “out of band” backhaul. Meaning, node-to-node traffic doesn’t share the same frequencies as your normal LAN traffic. Look for this in any mashed network solution you deploy. And ultimately, Eero is easier to setup and maintain. Set and forget. If you want to play with and tweak your WiFi settings, look at a UniFi solution.

I’ve deployed meshed and stand alone APs fo my family, all with wireless back haul. From an end user’s perspective, people can’t tell the difference. From your prospective as the network admin, meshed systems have logic that enables them to be self-sufficient. They can auto manage your wireless devices and optimize your airspace. Stand alone APs require manual manipulation. A lot of folks here like that. As do I, but not for family. I hope this helps. Ps. I recommend you look at Eero. They have the best auto-logic.

In my opinion, eero. It's insanely easy to setup and manage, it's also rock solid in performance and stability. I haven't had a single problem with it. Haven't used the tp-link one, but eero has been wonderful.

I use Eero, it's been an excellent mesh solution. Very reliable, easy to setup, easy to add nodes and manage the network. Personally, I can't recommend anything but Eero

Go with eero, period. Super easy and reliable. I run 4 nodes and I haven't had a single problem with them.

I run 4 [gocoax ma2500d](https://www.gocoax.com/ma2500d) adapters alongside two eero 7 mesh pucks in bridge mode. I don't remember what spec the Roamios/minis support, so you might run into some speed issues there. But I've generally had some good success. They've allowed me to hardwire stuff at my media center, the wife's office, and the spare bedroom where we keep the eero on the third floor.
