Swak sa budget mo ang Deco M4 na bundle of 3. Been using this mesh since 2019 (from PLDT plan) and hindi pa rin sira haha. Though may deduction talaga sa speed, konti lang naman. Pero it still depends on how far your mesh's are. I recommend buying cat6 to connect each mesh if gusto mo walang speed reduction. Been biased with TP-Link as my smarthome devices na ever since. Lahat ng cctv, smart lights, mesh, and other smart devices ko, TP-Link. Pulido talaga sila, kumbaga.

currently using 2 x be550 with easy mesh --> solid no problem used to have 2 x deco m4 with deco mesh --> solid no problem

yep. i made that mistake too. archer uses "easy mesh" where deco uses "deco mesh" and they dont talk to each other. so if you choose to go with easy mesh (tplink say it is the new standart) go for a easy mesh compatible satellite or if you like deco get another one. it is your choice both are great. (used to have 2 decos for over 3 years now i got 2 x archer be9300 for easy mesh)

E4, M4 and S7 are pretty much the same, they are different generation models with new ones being slim and shorter than the old ones. These 3 are the basic ones and should be more than enough. X series gives you extra security feature (most of them require their paid monthly plan) and x50 that I use allows you to plugin your vpn config and supports wifi 6. If you don't use vpn you are better off grabbing M4 or S7 whichever is cheaper. For my upstairs where I usually work from I have M4.

Go for Mesh. If you are looking for more than 500Mbps connection you might need to connect the units using LAN cables. I used this one for my parents house. https://www.amazon.in/TP-Link-Deco-M4-AC1200-System/dp/B07KJ2TDMR/

I use a mesh system. Used to have 3x TP link Deco M4s. Now upgraded to TP link Deco 25 WiFi 7. Be used to have multiple extenders which were plugged into the wall and basically worked as repeaters but it was finicky. Go for a mesh system

You probably have both your ISP zyxel and Deco in router mode, this means that they both do dns and tries to control all the devices on your network give them IP addresses, so that’s a conflict causing network issues. You can do two things to correct the network conflict issue. 1. Have your IPS set your Zyxel in bridge mode and then connect a Deco directly to it and then connect a switch to your deco and all your Ethernet cables to the switch. Zyxel -> main Deco -> network switch -> more Decos 2. Keep your Zyxel as is and set your Decos in access point mode, this makes the Zyxel the main router and the Deco should then extend the Zyxel network. I haven’t tried this so you will have to rely on the Deco app and YouTube for instructions. I also recommend that you get rid of the Deco M4 units, they are using what is called WiFi Standard 5 which is 2013 technology. If you upgrade to WiFi standard 6 og 7 Decos you will get s lot better speed and coverage from each Deco unit. For now WiFi 6 Decos like X55 will probably be fine, WiFi 7 is better but most of your devices is probably only WiFi 6 so you can’t utilize that technology yet and WiFi 7 is more expensive.

I recommend TP link Deco, there is s nice user friendly app and it’s an easy setup. However as someone else wrote, mesh can be difficult on different floors without some cabeling in between floors. I have set it up at one location with an outdoor deco x50 as the main point and then 8 indoor units to cover 8 apartments in two floors and that works good, so that’s an alternative solution for you to consider.

Looking at this setup we first need to check whether your deco is setup in access point mode, likely not. That could solve unstable wifi. What’s the reason you added the deco? Is it located elsewhere to increase WiFi coverage?

Okay, you mentioned 1 M4 Deco, now you say there are multiple. Switch off the wifi on the Zyxel, then you have one WiFi network being the Deco Mesh. Maybe that also solves your wifi issue as they might conflict with each other. What is your experience with the wifi, what do you notice on it being not stable? How many deco nodes do you have? Are they wired?

Happy to see this solved it for you. To challenge that it's mandatory to have this, my Wifi is Deco Mesh and the Sonos works great on WiFi without having to steer what frequency they're on. It's all automatic, the Deco both has 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz on, so it could be the newer ones with 6Ghz have this issue. It's for sure something people can try when they run into issues with Sonos.

Advice is to add a mesh, either connecting to your router and replacing its wifi, or fully replacing the router and WiFi. You can only have one router in your network if you want to prevent issues. Then you should design where to put the mesh nodes, if you can somehow wire these to your router with an ethernet cable, that would be ideal. If that's not an option (wiring), no problem, then you need to be extra careful with placing the Mesh nodes, they need to be able to see eachother in good health. My experience is with Deco from TP-Link but there's much more available; that's up to you. Depending on thickness of walls, distance etc you need to find the right balance in where to place them and how much you need. But if for example you could place one where the router now is, then go up floor by floor and if needed extend on that floor, not knowing how big your house is. With a mesh you have one name for WiFi, your devices roam between the nodes seamlessly, you can connect wired devices to the nodes and there are also devices available for outdoors. You can manage the whole from an app. And no, I'm not in sales 😀
