"I've got a hybrid set up of M9 and M5 units (including one M5 in a detached garage) that's been rock solid for years."
"Actually better than a range extender, as Mesh systems are designed from the ground up to work with each other in the system. ... But it's half ass "patched up" jerky jerky mesh was no match to a Deco. Deco was snappier, more reliable, and longer range."
"I myself have a deco and we have four modules through a long rambly ranch house and we have nearly 300 MB per second everywhere because we have about 1 GB per second fiber to the house."

"TPLink Decco is a damn good mesh system and and much cheaper. ... $169 for my 3 Decco System."
"you can pick up a 3-pack for cheap, solid units"
"for your building you could probably do it for under $1,000 easily."

"tplink just works ... I follow up with my customers each month and they say everything is much better and working great. I only hardwire nodes, never wireless, and I buy the wifi6e versions- I’m not saying tplink is better than Unifi, just saying a hardwired network and wifi where you need it is the recipe."
"I noticed a BIG improvement once i conected all my decos via ethernet. ... I hate cables but it was a game changer, i use smart products from different brands and now i don't have any issues with disconections!! ... Some meross plugs disconected all the time before wiring my decos, now they work flawless!"
"I have tp link Delco each has ethernet back haul works great."

"Seriously, set it up at my parents too a couple of years ago. So easy to use"
"Just a no fuss system. ... Plug in, download the app, set ssid and don't worry about it anymore for years. ... Mine has been stable and working for years."
"It’s easy and reliable. ... This is all really easy to set up in my experience, and it just works."

"I have having a nightmare with my networked PC's, some plugged into the ISP router and some on the wifi. They weren't showing up under worked PC's in windows and once i switched the Deco's to AccessPt Mode... everything fixed. I can connect to either the Deco AP mesh, or directly to the ISP router and all pc's can now see each other!"
"The reason I have upgraded to Deco mesh is because each powerline creates its own WiFi hotspot, which is fine if you are connecting a stationary desktop/TV etc (although in which case ethernet cable to the TP Link is better), but I had 3 in the house and the original router, which means the WiFi connection on your phone/tablet wants to keep switching to a different source when you move from room to room, and dropping out every time, which was enormously annoying."
"Also you can mix the different models seamlessly without having to upgrade the entire system"

I've got a Deco X10 and two M9 Plus covering three floors of a house. Works great for me. They're decently powered devices, each running about 8-10 WiFi clients including two TVs streaming simultaneously.
Used Deco M9 would be the ideal solution as they have a dedicated wireless backhaul as well as two normal wifi channels giving you a WIFI 5 with a separate backhaul. Being a few years older, they are also cheap on the used market for what they can do.
I have deco m9 plus and it has a dedicated 5 ghz for thr backhaul and therefore its called a tri band router. Even I am looking to add a couple more to the network as I am planning to shift one to another site. But I dont know which new ones have a dedicated back haul radio.
Another vote for the deco. I have 2 M9+. Working perfect. Fist bought 3, but 2 was more then enough.
I use these. They are superb.
Seconding TP-Link Deco. I've got a hybrid set up of M9 and M5 units (including one M5 in a detached garage) that's been rock solid for years.
Invest in a mesh system , ideally triband ( so dedicated wireless link between units. Previously had a Deco M9 ( can be picked up cheaply ) . Had 3 of them linked in a 3 storey house and was spot on for speeds up to 500 mbps. Easy to use app. Upgraded to a ASUS mesh now due to 1gb fibre .
Not true. The M9 Plus - which is a very old Mesh router, has a dedicated 5GHz backhaul channel radio.
YES. The Deco M9-Plus has a dedicated 5GHz backhaul radio. I do wish people would spend 5 seconds checking before guessing an answer! The M9-Plus is a fantastic little router. It even acts as a VPN client, and can create dedicated sub-nets for Smart appliances at a click of a button.
Hey! The TP-Link Deco M9 Plus and Deco X20 AX1800 are both solid mesh picks. M9 is super reliable, and X20 gives you Wi-Fi 6 and great coverage for 4,000+ sq ft. Look at TP-Link Deco or Eero. Both are solid mesh options. With 2 floors and a basement, a mesh system with wired backhaul (if you can run Ethernet) will give you the best performance. You can always start wirelessly and run cables later if needed. Just make sure whatever you get supports Wi-Fi 6. It'll handle gaming, streaming, and working better than anything else.
I’m currently running a TP Link mesh network with 3 nodes. The current system is a cheap TP Link Deco mesh (WiFi 5). I’m curious if the coverage from the Dream Router 7 would be superior to my current setup, or if I would need an extra ap. My current setup has trouble connecting to my WiFi ring doorbell and my car parked in the driveway on the other side of the house. I live in a 1700 sq ft, 2 story cape. I’m new to this so any pointers would be appreciated!
