I've used the S4 AC1900 trio (older but worked well), along with the X55 trio. Still Wifi 6 but decent coverage. The one failure was the Eero Mesh 6, stopped working but got a replacement set from Amazon and shipped the old set back. No problems since then.

We have the Deco system with Optimum and it’s great. We have 6 around the house and we get very good speeds everywhere. We have a pretty big house and the modem is at one end so the other end had horrible speeds even with an extender. Now it’s pretty much equal speeds anywhere you go.

We bought them at Christmas so we got a good deal on them or I probably wouldn’t have bought so many. During Covid my kids literally couldn’t connect or stay connected to the zoom calls because of the horrible internet speeds, before we got the Deco, as it’s an older house with very thick walls and it’s a ranch so it’s spread out. I don’t know what model we have but Deco has an app that monitors each unit, which we find very helpful. I would just look on Amazon and check the reviews for each model.

I found the one we bought on Amazon but I don’t see how to add a picture. They have a deal with three units for $89.99. If you search for Deco Mesh Wi-Fi it’s the TP-Link Deco S4 Mesh AC1900 Wi-Fi system

I took out the link and posted the name. The router connects to your modem with an Ethernet cable. Each unit has two Ethernet outputs so you can connect your devices with an Ethernet cable if you want it to be hard wired.

I like the TO Link Deco stuff My s4s will deliver around 400meg with no wired backhaul

It doesn't matter for 125mb tho, you can get 3-400 via wireless backhaul on the deco s4 for example

I've used and installed TP-Link Deco Wi-Fi. M9Plus, M5 and S4. All have worked great. Those are comsumer products. You can go pro-sumer and get TP-Link Omada. I use this in my house currently. Outside I use eap225-outdoor and indoor I use eap720. You can get PoE switches where you need more ethernet ports. If you want/need fast roaming you'll need a controller like an OC200. You can also go cloud based, but I don't recommend that for more than one eap. In reality Omada isn't too expensive, the eap720 was on sale for 80 dollars on Amazon and the eap225-outdoor is 70 dollars. The eap225-outdoor is dual band AC1200 (Wi-Fi 5) and the eap720 is dual band BE5000 with Wi-Fi 7.

I have both deco's and cuddy's the decos you can get from costco though (3 pack) and they were pretty well but the bad thing is they kind of stop updating after a year or two. They also go on sale very often at costco. I am unsure on cuddy's as I just got them for testing. I also do bypass though so I don't even use the bgw620 even though I have one.

I moved into a new place a year ago and ran.limited Ethernet cable. Using a tp-link deci mesh system to cover 3200 sqft (two floors). Great coverage throughout. I was surprised as I took the approach you are describing with my old house. Honestly, both perform the same. General use is streaming and remote work. No gaming. So, depending on your use, you might be overthinking. I saw the cat8 comment - you have a house not a colo, no need for cat 8.

I have a TP-Link Deco mesh system running to cover my 3200sqft two story house. I have no issues whatsoever. And mesh systems are not simply extenders. As you move about your house you will have seamless coverage with mesh.

1000 sqft does not need a mesh network. Get a solid AP or wireless router. I have the TP-link Deco network and it covers my 3200 sqft two story 4 bedroom house nicely. Anymore than one AP or wireless router will be overkill and unnecessary.

In my old house I had PoE unifi APs all with the same network name and it generally worked as a mesh network. When I moved I switched to a TP-Link Deco Mesh network with three APs. I was going to backhaul all of them, but after using it for a few months I found the speed and coverage was fine and the backhaul wasn't needed. They are not PoE units, so each one would need to be plugged in. But they are unobtrusive in the house. The first month the system seemed to learn as it was spotty. But then I found great coverage. The biggest difference I have found is that the Unifi APs tended to hang on to the connection vs handing it off to the next AP like the Deco does. I was very reluctant and skeptical of mesh after reading reviews, but I really could not be happier and the set up was a heck of a lot easier than running new Ethernet lines.

I use deco pods. Super easy to set up. I'd recommend wiring in every access point. Mesh systems tend to lower total available bandwith, since things need to get broadcast more than one.

Yup, if you go in the app it will show you. I use deco pods in my home.

Yup, if you have Ethernet where your desktop is, you can wire up the deco and have it provide WiFi to that area.
