"WiFi 7 models are still very expensive but few devices are compatible at the moment so for me WiFi 6 is the best option for the money."
"It’s relatively inexpensive and easy to set up. ... All I can tell you is that if you’re looking for ease of set up and solid operation at a good price its a good fit."

"Just a no fuss system. ... Plug in, download the app, set ssid and don't worry about it anymore for years. ... Mine has been stable and working for years."
"Seriously, set it up at my parents too a couple of years ago. So easy to use"

"2000sq ft split level, but I got it with 3 bases and particularly for the Ethernet back haul as I have one unit in a shed about 75 ft from my house that I ran Ethernet to. (Shed is a converted game space for tabletop gaming)."
"What really made a difference for me was getting the X50 mounted in the ceiling in my living room, it pretty much covers the entire house alone."
"Actually better than a range extender, as Mesh systems are designed from the ground up to work with each other in the system. ... But it's half ass "patched up" jerky jerky mesh was no match to a Deco. Deco was snappier, more reliable, and longer range."

"tplink just works ... I follow up with my customers each month and they say everything is much better and working great. I only hardwire nodes, never wireless, and I buy the wifi6e versions- I’m not saying tplink is better than Unifi, just saying a hardwired network and wifi where you need it is the recipe."

"another one just outside the back door (X50) to reach the backyard, otherwise the signal is gone after 15 feet."

"Can confirm. Have Deco. Am miserable."
"frequently fails to deliver advertised features or function reliably"
"The tplink’s I bought say they support mesh but once setup as a mesh they lose features. ... So the mesh isn’t worth using. ... The mesh setup is a half baked. You can’t use all the wifi features when setup as a mesh."
Are you able to turn off the 5GHz band with ubiquiti and run a 2.4GHz only network? I chose Decos because I needed to do that. I’ve been tempted to upgrade recently but I think my issues are a combination of only using 2.4GHz and being on crappy fixed wireless. I’m about to change providers to get faster fixed wireless (and cheaper, bloody Telstra!) and need my own modem so am about to buy a Deco x50 dsl, but if I’m going to change to unifi now would be the time.
r/HomeKit • Looking for wifi router recommendations - fed up with my Deco mesh system ->Yes I’ve done that before. I think Deco seems much easier overall. Best to just stick with it I think and hope upgrading to faster fixed wireless improves it enough.
r/HomeKit • Looking for wifi router recommendations - fed up with my Deco mesh system ->Really need size of area to cover and density of what you are trying to get through rather than users... The lowest older decos will service 100 connections, but starting at the 500mbps requirement I would suggest X50. Now, if youre in a 6 bedroom bungalow on a single level with thick brick walls as all internal walls then youre going to be needing probably 6 units... If you're in a 2 storey, 3 bed, with plasterboard, non insulated filled walls and you dont need it to flow much into a small garden and the home office is not on the other side of the garden then 3 will probably do... Personally bang for buck at todays speed I reckon X50 - if you think you are going to change your plan to GB speed plans in the future then go up the range that allow wifi 7 levels, but you pay for it . If you have ability to link through cat cables in ceiling or wall space then obv do that and your older lesser models will perform much better
r/TpLink • Recommendations for new mesh network - UK full fibre ->I setup Deco X 50 for my 4000 sq ft villa and it’s amazing so far over 6 month now
r/HomeNetworking • What is the Best WiFi Mesh System for Home? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 ->I went rt-be92u x 2 from Asus. It is WiFi 7 however not all devices support it, but you can turn off WiFi 7 mode in app. Now I pay for 950 down (UK) and at node using Samsung Tab S10 Ultra showing WiFi 6E on tablet I'm getting 647 down. Laptop ethernet to node get 812 down. Ping is around 9 on both. You want the best I've heard the newest Orbi devices are supposed to be the dogs dangly bits. I used TP Link X50 mesh before which again is good system. Only reason I ditched it was subscription for parental controls.
r/HomeNetworking • Best Mesh for Wireless Backhaul ->I'd get 1 for each floor, since your internet is not extremely fast and you seemingly don't have special requirements, maybe a 3 pack of x50s if they're cheaply available. if you want to save space, then maybe M5s or M9s
r/TpLink • Deco mesh router recommendation for a 3-storey house that is 135 sq metres (1453 sq ft)? ->I have a 600mbps plan and i use a deco x50. Could deco x20 do the job, yes in paper. But the protocol (wifi 6) is not the only consideration. For deco x50 it has 2x2 mu-mimo which better handles wireless devices. I have wifi 5 device in theory should handle 600mbps but it reality it only handles 300mbps. In conclusion, you may need to know what are your devices and how many. Also what is the structure of the home (concrete or wood walls) if wireless backhaul would be enough or you need wired. If you dont want to think much. I suggest get be25 for future proofing. Deco x50 if your not gonna upgrade anytime soon.
r/TpLink • Recommended wired mesh/AP for 700mbps connection ->Just add another deco, easier from a management standpoint. But no, you could just add an AP, you would not need a separate router.
r/TpLink • Adding an access point to mesh network ->I ran cat6 cable from my front office to the back of my house and added a TP-Link Deco X50 AX3000 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 Router down there. Now my whole house gets full wifi coverage 👍🏻 $180 and 3 hours work
r/nbn • Help me with recommends for a home WiFi network ->Whatever it becomes, make sure that if you are wireless meshing that there is a dedicated backhaul channel. Else your speeds will get divided by the amount of mesh points. Good luck! I installed TP Link Deco X50 at my parents house and works good enough.
r/HomeNetworking • What is the Best WiFi Mesh System for Home? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 ->Your internet speed (150 vs 600 Mbps) affects how fast stuff downloads/uploads, but not your WiFi signal inside the house. For better wifi coverage, I’d skip the “powerful modem/router” and go with a mesh system, like a TP-Link Deco series which will plug straight into the ONT/Modem depending on your ISP. Super easy to set up and reliable.
r/HomeNetworking • Best modem / mesh setup for minimal headache ->Only if you want Wi-Fi 6 and to go down the mesh route, it depends on your devices. With a mesh system like the Deco, you won't need the AC1900 anymore. However, if you really want to keep it, you could just add an access point to increase the wifi coverage. Who is your ISP? I would just look at something like the X50s; you can pick up a 3-pack for cheap, solid units.
r/HomeNetworking • Best modem / mesh setup for minimal headache ->I have the x50 v1 which i upgraded from m4s they have been solid
r/TpLink • Please recommend some of the best mesh routers/APs for home. ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
