I've been seriously considering that switch myself. I jumped into this sub b/c I a asked to look at some networks using older eero setups. Found it so dumbed down that it was very hard to troubleshoot but coverage was total a$$. Once I got it running correctly, I was actually pretty impressed with the performance. especially the mesh backhall. I currently run a upper midrange 6+ deco system because until I see how well eero worked, it was by far the best I'd used. But the small business class Omada systems I've built have become my preferred standard. Just, I haven't played with mesh function on Omada and have no idea how capable it is it isn't. The other part of the equation is the cost of ownership. At the pricing I've been looking at for eero units supporting 6ghz - it's almost a toss going with it or eero when I upgrade my own home setup. Curious, anyone have any suggestions for a 6ghz eero setup with 4 APs ( meaning a master and 3 extensions via mesh backhall)? The house setup is a pain, 2 floors and backyard, and the ftth is on one side of the house dead center (where I put my main AP due to difficulty accessing above it below for extending Ethernet) but having the 2nd AP just past halfway across the width of the home, yields mediocre performance and trying to run the 3rd downstairs below the 2nd leaves 2.4ghz devices struggling no matter how many optimizations I run. Thinking maybe a 4 AP system may be required to improve things at 2.4 so my TAPO cameras don't struggle so much.

I've had great service from my TP Link Deco X60 pair. They are connected via ethernet backhaul. Everything is stable and responsive.

I think the topo of making Deco in router mode will be better: ISP modem (bridge mode) -> Main X60 (Router mode) -> unmanaged switch -> Slave 1 X60 (AP mode) -> Slave 2 X60 (AP mode) If your budget kinda tight or afraid of 3 nodes cannot cover all of your house, reduce 1 node to a lower model and get a cheaper nodes. Based on the floor plan: 1.Ground floor: The main X60 can stay inside workstation area. 2.1st floor: Slave 1 X60 staying at the nearest C1 underneath your X mark 3.2nd floor: Situational based on usage of children or master bedroom Just in case if the director cabin not having good wifi coverage from both Main X60 and slave 1, you can get a cheapy node compatible with tplink mesh and putting it in this room (Wireless will be fine, no need to cable up)

I've been running a TP-Link Deco X60 setup both in my current and previous 2 story apartments. I am also using it as a PPPoE modem to connect to my ISP. In my previous one I had 2 units on the living floor and another one on the rooftop. I had used only its wifi capabilities as a backbone and it was pretty decent, not super-fast but good enough. In my current apartment I have an Ethernet cable running across the rooms so the entire backbone is LAN based and the performance is amazing across the board. From a management system I'm using both the obvious (parental controls) and some advanced capabilities such as Dynamic DNS, port forward and custom DNS server and everything works without a hitch. As I purchased this system 3-4 years ago I cannot comment on the price however I do remember it was reasonably priced back then, and I am pretty sure TP-Link has made some improvement since.

It provided Wifi 6 for cheap but I couldn't get mine to work optimally. 5G was inconsistent and had an unusually short range (could barely reach outside my tiny room). I did a wired backhaul but when I tested it with wireless backhaul it was a miserable experience. Had to decommission mine after a couple of weeks and ended up buying a Deco X60.

Do you intend having wifi or wired backhaul? If wifi backhaul, I would certainly recommend the X60 rather than the X10.

With wireless backhaul, the wifi capacity of the Deco is much more sollicited: wifi is used to communicate between Deco and devices, and also used to communicate betwen Deco, usually across obstacles. Hence, taking into account the usage (gamers, ...), the size of the house, and the speed of the Internet connection, I expect X60 to offer a better service if using wireless backhaul. With wired backhaul, if there are no major obstacles between Deco and the devices, X60 would probably not bring significant benefits.

The main Deco must be wired to its source of Internet. I would return the Archer, indeed, and build a mesh only with deco units.

3 Deco meshes in the family, purchased in 2020, 2024 and 2025, all working perfectly.

I have a mix of X60's and XE75's. I'm going to replace the 60's with 75's soon though
