See if you can borrow a mommy bag because if you’d like to sleep displayed out with your legs and arms akimbo, you may hate a mummy bag. Or you may find you preferred to sleep with it half unzipped. I personally use a extra large rectangle shaped Coleman sleeping bag with a kind of synthetic cloth liner – not slick nylon or poly pro. In effect, it’s a giant blanket when left unzipped. I’m a big boy and I very much like to have my legs spread out, or bent up in the fetal position with the pillow between my knees. None of that works in a snug mommy bag. So again, borrow or rent one or two with the profile you were thinking about getting and decide if it’s right for you. And if not, go with the more traditional shaped rectangle bag.

I am like this. I bought a big and tall (rated for much bigger and taller people than I) flannel lined sleeping bag that gave me plenty of room for movement and is super warm, so much so that I am going to get the higher temp version. I think it is a Coleman but not 100%,  have it stored away at the moment.

We have 2 fat Coleman rectangle flannel lined bags, they zip together and are like $100 cheaper than a fancy double bag.

Coleman big and tall sleeping bag. Can zip 2 of them together if you want substantially more space.

I don’t need tall either. But that extra space is nice for putting my hoodie or clean clothes for the next morning. Also gives the bag more of a “bed” feel imo

Check out Coleman's [Big & Tall](https://www.coleman.com/sleeping-bags-beds/sleeping-bags-by-temp/big-tall/?custompid=SAP_2000008710) sleeping bags. My mom and I both use Dunnock sleeping bags. My sister has a Heritage, and her husband has a Big Bason bag. The Dunnock and Heritage bags are as wide as a twin bed. I'm male, 6'4", and 180 pounds. My brother-in-law is 6'2" tall and 300+ pounds. My sister is 5'10" and 200+. They fit us bigger people quite well.
