I’ll be the odd one out to suggest a double bag but I almost never go camping without my partner and we cuddle. The Kelty Doublewide is where it’s at. Paired with 2 Klymit Drift Pillows (size L). Partner is picky with pillows and those are great. Grab a two pack from Costco Next for a good deal. Also for colder trips sub 30 pick up a large quilt / down / synthetic down whatever to throw on top.

Oh my wife and I just bought a 2 person bag thats rated at 20 so may be a tad light but it's awesome give me a sec to link it. Super comfortable and one bag, nothing seperate

r/CampingGear • Sleep gear for car camping and maximum flexibility? 1 or 2 person setup, 20-70F temperature range, and easy to clean, in as few separate items as possible ->

Zenbify fits the design you're asking about, but is above your cost by a decent amount. They are super comfortable though, and I love mine. Might keep an eye and pick up on sale/discount or with a coupon code. I'd generally recommend 2 sleeping bags/quilts vs a shared double unless you both tend to sleep at the same temperature. You can also get sleeping bags that zip together if you do want to share space but have the option for solo/separate use. That being said, Kelty makes good stuff so I'd trust their double if it fits your needs.

I have a Kelty double and it is warm and cozy for at least around 40 degrees. Plus I get to cuddle. 😂

Gnarly! Sounds like some top tier "type B" fun. Early on in backpacking, after several uncomfortable, borderline worrisome nights sleep in my 20°f Kelty bag I learned the advertised temperature ratings of sleeping bags are actually the "survival rating,", meaning you won't lose any appendages to the elements. The comfort rating is always significantly warmer than the survival rating and you often have to research equipment in advance to find thst figure. I'm PNW-based, and personally, fall-winter I use a rei magma down 15 bag & neoair xtherm pad. I might not ook like Jeremiah Johnson all bundled up but I sleep like a baby. Risking death chasing the bushcraft aesthetic in a cold, damp environment isn't worth it if you lack the ability or materials to craft an adequate sleep system.

Kelty sleeping bag rated for 20 degrees. Base layer, sweats, socks, beanie. I also have a Coleman insert that’s basically like a thin blanket sewed into a sleeping bag shape for extra cold nights.
