I have that bag and it’s been excellent
Thanks bud for this post! You just saved me $50+ after buying it a couple weeks ago. First time out with it this coming weekend
I ordered it on sale recently and I was just fine on my first and only use at around 35f, no down leaks yet (some things I get just start leaking immediately) and the pack size is good for me, although I would prefer a little bigger stuff sack than the one it came with, I find it a little tough to stuff it inside the provided one.
For cheap, no. https://preview.redd.it/crlfe5zr9u1g1.jpeg?width=447&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=528fa1c294cba5226b5f77d7a984a5ee5ee7ce1b Though, a system bag like the [Big Agnes Lost Ranger 3n1 0](https://www.rei.com/product/245987/big-agnes-lost-ranger-3n1-0-sleeping-bag) will get you awful close if you add the [Outdoor Research Helium Bivy](https://www.rei.com/product/203558/outdoor-research-helium-bivy). This is what I use. You could also build a similar system that is a bit safer from a 40 degree top quilt like the [Enlightened Equipment Revelation Apex Regular-Wide](https://enlightenedequipment.com/revelation-apex/) and any 20 degree Down mummy bag like [Mammut Comfort Down 23](https://www.rei.com/product/247720/mammut-comfort-down-23-5c-sleeping-bag)
Mammut makes quality gear. Mammut acquired Ajungilak who started making sleeping bags back in 1855. So they got the experience too. The bag itself is a nice 3 season bag. And have a good draft collar design. And a central zipper which is better for heat retention. It's also EN ISO 23537-1:2016 tested which is a big thumbs up for me on sleeping bags.
I like it. -5 is good, I like the zipper up the center instead of on the side. Sounds like a good deal at half off.
Not correct. I borrowed one of these sleepingbags and my life isforever changed. It follows your body like a glove, like the front zipper is always at the front no matter where and how or how much you turn. It was amazing. So this sleepingbag is amazing for side sleepers!
