For the last 8 months since I started backpacking, I’ve been using the ozark trail 30 degree mummy. I’ve been in as low as 19 degree nights with it, although I needed many layers of fleece and puffers and gloves to get any sleep. It’s been a fine budget bag to get me started, but it takes up about half of my Gregory baltoro 65L. I’m going to take advantage of REIs sale and get me a proper down bag. Walmart has great introductory items until you start fine tuning your gear. I’ll be picking up a backpacking chair from there soon I’m sure since I’ll be saving a pound with my new sleeping bag!
Tbh a lot of the Ozark Trail stuff ain’t half bad. And in the past few years it’s been getting better
Are you backpacking? Is the weight or bulk of the gear a concern? What temperatures do you expect during your trip? Are you a side sleeper? Mummy bags are warmer but not very comfortable for side sleepers. For $100 I'd recommend the Ozark Trail brand at Walmart. It's good enough for occasional use and way cheaper than any of the premium brands.
