If you are brand new and don't know if you're going to ever go camping again then the Ozark Trail gear at Wal-Mart is probably enough for your needs. Even experienced campers use a lot of that gear if they're on a budget. It won't be as durable or as comfortable as other options but people get along just fine using it every day. [Ozark Trail 35F Flannel Lined Rectangle Adult Sleeping Bag - Brown (80" x 36")](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-35F-Flannel-Lined-Rectangle-Adult-Sleeping-Bag-Brown-80-x-36/3818101742?classType=REGULAR&athbdg=L1600) is $30 and probably perfectly fine for a spring summer camp (but double check the weather, the 35f rating is always a bit of an exaggeration) [Ozark Trail Self-Inflating Camp Pad with Pillow - Grey, Adult, 78" L x 25" W x 2" H](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-Self-Inflating-Camp-Pad-with-Pillow-Grey-Adult-78-L-x-25-W-x-2-H/3727614031?classType=VARIANT&athbdg=L1600) is $35. Now, this is the part I might spend a little more money on, I won't vouch as to how comfortable this is, but it's cheap.

Are you backpacking? Is the weight or bulk of the gear a concern? What temperatures do you expect during your trip? Are you a side sleeper? Mummy bags are warmer but not very comfortable for side sleepers. For $100 I'd recommend the Ozark Trail brand at Walmart. It's good enough for occasional use and way cheaper than any of the premium brands.
