I've been using Snugpak Elite 3 for a while. Probably not quite as suitable for your temp needs, but I think the Elite 4 would suit you.

I don't mind the size so I often end up using my hammock cocoon as a sleeping bag/quilt if I want lots of space. I also got a panel for my normal snugpak elite. I've looked at down bags, but I've had too many really wet trips to trust them even if the size and weight are appealing.

I'll just mention that my snugpak 'winter' bag is rated to -10C, but there's no way I'd use it in those temperatures. Take the rating with a pinch of salt. My Alpkit down bag (-7C comfort rating) is way warmer than the Snugpak. I don't know about the arctic bag, I have the modular system. And yes, get a decent mat.

The softie's come with compression straps, I used to sell Snugpak stuff for a living. The factory is in the same village. Either way Snugpak stuff is not light or compact but it's very warm even when wet. With what I know now I would go straight to good value down for a sleeping bag or quilt. (Aeigismax has insane value) I would pick a Snugpak jacket over a down jacket for really shitty British weather, SJ9 is my favourite. DM me for any snugpak questions 👌

I have a snugpack bag. It's a good bag for the price and I believe accurately reflects the temp rating. Plus they come with a sinch pack which is nice.

Yes the sleepingbag we use in the army are very cheap and are pure shit, i'll send Carinthia an email they make bad products.. We use our equipment 24/7 and in all seasons. Its an misconception because people buy the whole "military spec" therm and get some cheep Ali express shit from the internet. The only down side to the military sleepingbags is the weight and the bulk, other then that iff you dont mind it the carinthia bags are brilliant. For me the snugpak sleepingbag are to small in width.

I'm a huge fan of Snugpak bags. I've used them in all 4 seasons in Ontario and Alberta. In the arctic. Mountians and deserts in California, Afghanistan, and Iraq.  They're light, small pack size, and warm even when wet. There's probably newer fancier stuff out there now but Snugpak bags are worth looking at.

Snugpak make basically all you want from a sleeping bag. Bit more expensive but great night's sleep.
