The North Face - Dolomite One Bag

I have it and I like it. It allows me to be comfortable in both the summer and shoulder seasons. it’s a little on the heavy side, but for me the comfort is worth it. I have the “tall” version and it barely fits me (6’3”) so keep that in mind.

I have one and really like it. I do bring a liner as well cause I don’t like the feeling of the fabric on the inside, but that’s my only gripe

Yep backing this up as well, I asked the same question last summer, and the North face dolomite / one bag is what I ended up with. It seemed like a gimmick but it's extremely effective, down around 10 was no issue. I haven't tried it lower than that

North face sells a bag called dolomite[3 in 1 bag](https://a.co/d/hyVSi78) one, it is comprised of 3 sections. I’m not recommending it directly but I’d imagine that’s the style of bag you need. A wool quit just won’t do you justice even an alpaca quilt just doesn’t have the insulation quality a bag does.

Seconded for not big enough. I would only recommend this bag for shorter/slimmer folks.

I have the One bag, I love it! It’s super comfortable and warm. I camp in NorCal, so usually mild weather— sometimes I’ll bring a sheet for inside or a throw for on top if I feel it’s going to be brisk at night. It’s pretty perfect and stuffs in really compact.

I can vouch that I’ve really enjoyed the One bag!

My gf has a North Face One bag rated to 5*F. It’s a modular sleeping bag so you can remove layers to make it a 20/40*F bag. I have used it down to 7*F while hunting outside Steamboat Springs CO and was actually comfortable, not just surviving.

I tried one out from REI and it just didn't fit me - at 6'1" I was barely short enough for the tall, and my shoulders are too wide for it - couldn't turn *in* the bag, the whole thing turned with me. But otherwise it was great - well made, easy to use, and well designed. I was sorry to have had to return it.

Both are available from numerous retailers. I will spare anyone the hassle of trying to make a decision between the two, the Dolomite was remarkably underwhelming for me. I used it on one trip and returned it to REI and got The One bag. There are heavier duty bags out there, yes. But The One does a very, very good job of keeping me nice and toasty. I am a very early camper and I camp well into the start of ski season, my first trip in March this year we got 4 feet of snow at 12,000 feet in about 72 hours and I was very comfortable at night. It’s also very cozy. I tend to pack a lil heavy on my backpack, sleeping bag usually goes on the exterior with no issues. Oh and a note on the durability, I camp with four very large dogs and my golden retriever inevitably winds up on top or in the bag with me. No tears or scratches. I give it a good wash with Nikwax and have a giant bag of like 30 tennis balls I toss in the dryer with it and it comes out good as new every time.

I have the North Face Dolomite One. It's great for 3 season because you can play around with the temperature ratings. It has two layers on one side, for cooler temps, or you can remove a layer for warmer temps, and if it's even warmer, you can flip it to the other side which has an even thinner layer. Also, it's not a mummy sleeping bag. I can't stand feeling restricted so I have no interest in a mummy, but it's increasingly hard to find anything but mummy's these days, particularly if you are looking for something that also isn't super bulky (like the ones at Walmart that take up a ton of room and weigh a lot).

I have worked in the outdoor industry in various positions for a decade. Have hundreds of days sleeping below zero. The north face One Bag is the Swiss Army knife of cold - warm conditions. Under $300. Highly recommend. One of the best kit purchases I’ve ever made.

I have camped in the teens with the one bag and I can safely say that it did the great. I used a Thermarest Neo Air Xtherm pad which always helps, but the bag is solid for sure. I am actually going to pick another up at the local North Face store - saw it there yesterday for $79 (I paid $150 a year ago at a TJ Maxx of all places). 

+1 for The North Face. I have had one for over 20 years and it still killing it on any trip.
