The north face inferno 0 is like half off at rei right now I just scored one. depending on what you want to do you could use the inferno 0 with a liner, more layer, or a quilt on top or a combo of all of these. I wont guarantee it will be as warm as a polar ranger but you could probably get close.

For an 8-day Lemosho Route Kilimanjaro climb, where temperatures can drop to -20°C at higher altitudes, it’s great to have a top-quality sleeping bag that keeps you warm and comfortable. Given your budget and preferences, let’s look at some solid options among the models you’re considering: 1. The North Face Inferno 0 - This bag is very popular among high-altitude climbers. It’s rated down to 0°F (-18°C), offering excellent insulation, but you might need to layer up if you’re expecting extreme temperatures. It has a spacious cut that could work well for side sleepers and those who like to keep extra items, like water bottles, warm in the bag. 2. Mountain Hardwear Phantom 0 - Known for being light and compressible, the Phantom 0 is a bit slimmer, which could be a plus for warmth efficiency but might feel restrictive if you prefer extra room for side sleeping. Its down fill is very high quality, so it should be comfortable and cozy on cold nights. 3. Therm-a-Rest Parsec 0 - The Parsec is another great option, with an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. Therm-a-Rest’s design includes features like a draft collar and zoned insulation, which is helpful for keeping warmth in and cold air out, although it might feel snug if you like more space. 4. Sea to Summit Spark 0 - This is one of the lightest options, so it’s fantastic for saving pack weight, but it may not provide as much warmth as the other options unless layered with a liner. The Spark series is often designed with minimal width, so it may not be the best if you need space to move or side-sleep. 5. Rab Sleeping Bags - Rab’s bags, especially models like the Rab Neutrino 600 or Andes series, are well-regarded for quality down and can offer more space compared to other mummy bags. They’re known for warmth and packability, so they’re definitely worth a closer look. For Kilimanjaro, I’d recommend prioritizing warmth and roominess, especially as a side sleeper. If the TNF Inferno 0 or Rab Andes feels comfortable in terms of room, one of these would be a solid choice for the coldest conditions you might face. Additionally, please note that our rentals use professional-grade sleeping bags, imported specifically for high-altitude conditions and rated down to -32°C. We dry-wash them after every climb for ultimate cleanliness and comfort, but we completely understand the preference for having your own gear!

Hi! For Kilimanjaro’s Lemosho route,, where temperatures can drop significantly, a reliable, high-quality sleeping bag rated for sub-zero temperatures is essential. Here are some suggestions and considerations to keep you comfortable: Temperature Rating: Since you’ll be climbing in December, temperatures at the higher camps can drop well below freezing, especially at night. A sleeping bag rated to at least 0°F (-18°C) is ideal, which aligns with your selection of bags. Roominess: Given that you prefer extra room to side-sleep and store water bottles, look for bags with a semi-rectangular or roomy mummy shape rather than a standard mummy bag, which can feel restrictive. Some models from Rab and Sea to Summit are known for offering a bit more space without compromising warmth. Recommendations: The North Face Inferno 0: Great choice for extreme conditions, known for warmth and durability, but it may feel slightly snug as it’s a true mummy bag. Mountain Hardwear Phantom 0: A lighter option that provides good warmth, though it’s still a bit narrow. Great if you want something compact and ultralight. Sea to Summit Spark 0: Lightweight and compact, but might be on the tighter side, so check sizing. Therm-a-Rest Parsec 0: Another strong contender for warmth and quality, and it’s slightly more spacious than typical mummy bags. Budget: With a $750 budget, these options fit well, but I’d recommend prioritizing warmth , waterproofing and comfort over compactness if you have porters carrying your bag. Additional Tip: Bring a sleeping bag liner for extra warmth, and if possible, a small foam pad to add insulation against the ground, as the tents and ground can get quite cold. Have a fantastic climb on Kilimanjaro!

All of those bags would be great. I brought a TNF 0 bag and was very warm every night.
