I've had several different sleeping bags in the past and was never comfortable all night. I'm fat, have big shoulders, and sleep on my side. All sleeping bags suck for me. I got the Zenbivy XL 25 degree synthetic core bed this spring and now I can finally get comfortable. I've had 15 to 20 nights in it so far. The sheet stays on my pad, pillow stays in place (Zenbivy pillow), and have not had any problems with the clips. It's awesome to be able to roll over just like I was in bed at home. I plan on upgrading to the 25 degree down light quilt soon, but only because it packs smaller. Zenbivy is expensive, but I'm getting older and value comfort.

I purchased a 25° Zenbivy setup during their last sale. I like how their setup does it a little differently but it’s slightly more of a cost. Their air mattress is highly rated and everyone says great things about how their quilt/sheet setup gives you the closest to an at home sleep. For me the price was worth getting the best night sleep. There’s also enlightened equipment or katabic who make quality quilts. Sleeping/mummy bags are really designed for back sleepers, side/stomach sleepers have a better time in a quilt and you’re saving some weight. Just make sure your pad is insulated appropriately. Not a bad idea to check out the thru hikers survey for Appalachian trail or PCT trail to see what people are using. Browse around /r/ultralight , /r/geartrade , or /r/ultralightgeartrade as well.

I’ll be the dissenter - I hated my Nemo Forte 20 (W’s long). We’re the same height and around the same weight and I found it too narrow in the shoulders and despite the spoon shape, I could not rotisserie comfortably. I didn’t find it warm, either, and experienced huge cold spots down the side opposite the zipper on a 35° night. I replaced it on a whim with a Zenbivy core bed and love it. The sheet keeps the quilt in place while I spin and the pillow pocket lets me throw my arms up while keeping them covered. The quilt is wide at the top and can tuck around me like a regular comforter. Super warm too.

I had an older REI mummy sack. I just got the core bed because I didn’t want to spend too much if I didn’t like it. Then I upgraded the quilt to the down in the pre thanksgiving sale this year.

I have a zenbivy and I love it. Don’t know what their lowest temp rated bag is though

Agreed. As a thrashing side sleeper this bag has been a godsend. It’s super versatile

This is pretty compelling tbh. 1.08kg and packs down to 20cmx20xm. 850 treated down. I’d personally go for a Zenbivy, but honestly I don’t think this looks bad.

I have a disco and its pretty good used it like a quilt so often I ended up going for a quilt, Specifically a zenbivy, its also good, I set it up with one side fixed to the sheet and the other mostly free. Like sleeping in a bed.

I had a SD Cloud 20 and that was hard enough to wriggle in and out of, I can imagine these being much worse and would probably feel claustrophobic. This is why I think the Zenbivy system excels- no draughts, freedom of a quilt etc. problem is the ultralight bed is very expensive and the light bed fairly heavy for this sub.

Zenbivy - best of both worlds! I have the 10f and 25f light beds and they're super comfortable.

Zenbivy is the best of both worlds. Most comfortable camp sleep system ever IMO.

Zenbivy all the way. I’m a major side sleeper. Makes a huge difference in a good nights sleep!

Zenbivy. Especially if you’re anything but a back sleeper.

I'm also a cold side sleeper that turns over a lot at night. Went with a zenBivy a few years ago and it's heaven. Not claustrophobic, lots of room to move my legs and arms. Can turn side to side easily like a regular bed. I love it. I have a +25 quilt that is warm for most of my uses, but also have a +40 I can layer for colder temps.

I regret the money I spent on my Zenbivy, I get so cold in it.

Try a Zenbivy, it combines the best features of a quilt and sleeping bag, once I tried one I did not go back to sleeping bags or quilts.

Zenbify fits the design you're asking about, but is above your cost by a decent amount. They are super comfortable though, and I love mine. Might keep an eye and pick up on sale/discount or with a coupon code. I'd generally recommend 2 sleeping bags/quilts vs a shared double unless you both tend to sleep at the same temperature. You can also get sleeping bags that zip together if you do want to share space but have the option for solo/separate use. That being said, Kelty makes good stuff so I'd trust their double if it fits your needs.
