I wanted to go cheap, so just last month I got the Canon zoemini 1. It was used and I paid £30 at CeX. It’s pretty impressive considering it’s the first model and it’s also a used product. I liked it very much. Comparing with the instax from Polaroid (my first printer), the quality is much sharper, the colors are more true and the fact that it is an adhesive is so nice. The app is pretty cool too, it has multiple layouts and even label maker. I just started my book reads of this year and I’m pretty happy! I managed to print 4 book covers, but I could have gone for 6 and still it would have been a great quality. My book page : https://imgbox.com/IB9MPzx4
selphy for print quality anyday, ivy for everything else. one is much larger than the other and cost per print will be different, zink papers are relatively affordable and widely available whereas canon's cartridges are higher upfront cost and limited to supply from the manufacturer.
I have the HP Sprocket and can pack that very easily. Canon Ivy would be similar. They’re both Zink printers and the quality is perfectly fine for me. I’m printing them for my journal, I’m not upset if the image isn’t exactly the same as my iphone screen. You can see a lot of photos and reviews on their Amazon listings. They are *extremely* portable and I’ve found the Zink refill packs to be pretty affordable.
I had an Ivy and liked it, and bought the Ivy 2 because I heard it was better (and honestly because having one device that still used micro-USB was irritating), and my Ivy 2 is much worse. The pictures look terrible - the color wrongness is much more extreme and they're very streaky. I don't know if I just got a bad one, but it's left me very unsure what to do next. I'd always heard the Ivy line was supposed to be the best of those.
Yeah, blue. No true colors here, unfortunately. And very fuzzy/noisy pictures
Yeah, and my photos are always too blue. It’s sufficient for what I want, though.
I use an app called Cameramark (iOS) to add camera info/border/frame to my shots and print them on my Canon ivy. It’s an extra step, but it lets me customize exactly what info I want on the prints. You could probably do the same with a Sephy or Instax printer, whatever printer does the size and color you like best. https://preview.redd.it/fy7a4nd9k7ug1.png?width=2258&format=png&auto=webp&s=2311416dbbb28445ec96f39fd569d1b3bc015475
