How often is fairly often? I got mine a couple of years ago and still haven't had to top up the tanks. Sometimes two or three weeks or more before printing anything at all. Haven't noticed any problems when I do. So far the last printer I liked this much was my Epson Color Stylus 740, which lost its grabby and so didn't feed paper anymore.
