I've always used Instax printers. I have the Mini, Square and Wide, so there's a bit of variety, and I like how it gives a little retro "Polaroid" flair to the journal. I'll either glue them in, use washi tape, or I'll get photo corners off of Temu or Amazon and put them in that way. I like the different sizes, and I can use different coloured washi or photo corners to bring a pop to them as well.
r/Journaling • best way to print photos? ->I have the Fuji Instax printer. Real film gives an aesthetic. But not the most affordable media. Certainly avoid all the thermal printer (zink) options, they have horrible stability
r/photography • Portable printer ->I have the square. Mini seems too mini to me. The fading will be a chemical property of the film. So if it does it with the regular cameras, it will do it with the printer. I honestly don't have anything I have printed, I only print to give away. The exposure is accurate when you print it (after about 10 mins development).
r/photography • Portable printer ->Get the Link printer! You can also print from your computer nowadays (you couldn't with earlier firware) so you can professionally edit in Lightroom and Photoshop and then print straight to the Link. With the Wide Evo you'd have to transfer the files to the camera first and then print from the camera menu. Way more cumbersome.
r/instax • Instax wide evo vs wide printer ->My older xa7 could print directly to an instax link printer. It would not connect to my mini evo. I normally send photo to my phone, then print on the evo. This allows me to crop and adjust the photo.
r/x100vi • Pocketable Photo printer ->OP, I know this was for Christmas, and I saw that you already bought yours—I hope you like it! But for anyone reading this in the future, that’s my take. I was at a photo fair in November and had been thinking about the Canon QX10 for a while. So, I went to the Canon stand, asked about it, and inquired if anything new was coming with USB-C. The representative told me, "You're in luck—we're just launching the QX20." I really liked what I saw. There was also a Fujifilm stand with the Instax portable printer, where they allowed you to print as much as you wanted, with options for both portrait and square formats. I personally wanted something for my photography business. My idea was to give a photo to a client at the end of a shoot by sending it from my camera to my phone, doing a quick retouch, printing it, and handing it over as a thank-you gesture. I noticed that Instax prints took more time to develop, and since they use the same paper as their Polaroid-style cameras, I was concerned I’d end up with a lot of hit-or-miss prints, resulting in wasted money on paper. So, I preferred the Canon QX20. However, the next day, when I looked at photos from the Instax, I realized they had much better colors and overall quality. They felt more like real photos, with a glossy layer on top. Now, I kind of regret not going with that option. But if you need something instant, you might prefer the Canon QX20 or a similar ink-based printer. If you don’t mind the wait, the Instax is worth checking out.
