There are a few 11" and 13" format printers that AREN'T marketed as photo printers in your price range, but if I wanted to do actual photo quality I'd probably get the Canon Pixma Pro-100 which is about $500...I'm poor so I just make do with my old workhorse HP Deskjet 9800 which is definitely not "photo quality" even with their allegedly photo ink cartridges. :-) Works great for printing out maps and floor plans though!
