Probably not what you're imagining but I'm extremely happy with my iPAC-40. It's a low end commercial portable air con but it has dual hoses for hot and cold air so you can pump cold air into one room and the heat out the other which is much more efficient (otherwise you have the window open letting out all your cold).
I'm probably not the person to ask as my setup is not normal. I opted for a low end commercial portable unit (14000BTU) which is installed in the guest room and has dual hoses with the cold vented to the bedroom and the hot out a vent in the wall. If I was definitely staying in this house I would have gone with a proper split unit though and self installed. Operating costs are about £2 per day run for about 8 hours. Upfront the unit cost about £550.
I got the iPac-40 from here: https://aircareappliances.co.uk/products/ipac-40-14000-btu-portable-air-conditioning-heat-pump-with-wifi-and-remote-control
