Pretty much all modern air conditioners don't require a drain hose, they use the water for additional efficiency and the vapor is being exhausted out of the hose as well. Even my cheap 7000btu Comfee unit had that. And all of them still have a built in tank that can be drained manually. They usually also have a level sensor to shut the AC off when the tank is full. For next year I recommend to look into something like the Midea Porta split or an dual hose Monoblock. Single hose is very ineffective.
