Also have one of these and it works really well. It’s very heavy though, so don’t expect to be lugging it up and down the stairs. Portable just means it has wheels.

Pinguino Compact. Sorry you’ll have to google the size ratings I can’t remember them off the top of my head. It cools our bedroom/ensuite down really well.

Delonghi penguio compact as supposedly quieter, it is decent on the lower setting. Got mine from Very due to 20% off but if you’re thinking about it for next week just go for whoever has them. in stock. I have also heard good things about Meaco? I had to buy a piece of acrylic with a cut out for the ac hose due to the shape of the windows but it is the neatest solution I’ve found. If you’re more DIY than me you can probably do it yourself but I found someone online to make mine. Think it’s worth it, glad I don’t have to do the dance each summer about whether we should get one anymore. When we move in a few years we’re likely to get ac units properly installed so if you have the budget and aren’t likely to move any time might be worth just going straight for that as summers are only going to get hotter.

We have a delonghi 7000btu unit and it gets our large bedroom down from 40º to positively chilly in about half hour. It's a little loud to sleep with it on but OK otherwise. We find that once the room has been cooled to 16ish we can turn it off anyway and don't need it on throughout the night.

I had a delonghi 12500 btu for nearly 10 years before it blew out...was only $275. If you spend less than $200 on an ac unit, its probably garbage. Most bedrooms only need about 8000btu and many brands make acs that are good for the sub $300 range.

Screw fix do them bought 2 from them first for a loft conversion 4 yrs ago second for daughters bedroom last year. Both do a fantastic job will drop the temp down within 3 hrs no faults or issues. You'll feel the temp in the whole house drop. Heat rises so upstairs will be warmer than downstairs once it's cooled the house will drop
