Personally, I like the zero breeze because it is long whereas the EcoFlow Wave 2 is more boxy. I had the issue of it taking up too much space in my RTT so I returned it. I think the ZeroBreeze 3 is around the corner IIRC

You may be expecting too much from these small units. "Efficient" and "small" are basically the opposite of each other; a unit that has a lot of cooling power is not small, and a small, compact unit does not have a lot of cooling capacity. You can't get a 10,000 BTU AC unit that you can carry in one hand. Keep in mind that these types of units only have a BTU value of about 5,000 at best. EcoFlow's Wave 2 portable AC is 5,100 BTUs, while ZERO BREEZE's latest generation [Mark 3](https://zerobreeze.com/pages/mark-3) portable AC is 5,280 BTUs. It's far from being able to keep up with traditional HVAC for indoor use. Basically, the scenario and time period in which you use them will greatly affect the effectiveness of these small, battery-powered units. Unless your vehicle are very well insulated, they will never be able to beat the temperature bring by sunlight during the day, so the best time for these types of units to work is at night.

THIS. Compared to the ZERO BREEZE Mark 2, the EcoFlow Wave 2 is a bit too heavy and uneasy to carry, moving it up and down the RTT wouldn't be a easy job. Edit: Nighttime is the absolutely best time for this type of unit to work. Using a battery powered portable AC in a poorly insulated RTT during the hot day under direct sunlight is not making sense.

I have the ECOFLOW wave 2 in my 2016 medium roof ford transit conversion van! The back living space is about 11.5 ft by 5.5 feet. The ECOFLOW is a portable AC unit and I’ve used it for 2 different trips now. The first 4 day trip I used it in Daytona, Florida in 65-100 degree weather. I had 2 holes in the side of my van for intake and outtake, but pulling 100 degree air from outside doesnt cool down the van at all! It only worked at night for this trip. I learned that it works infinitely better to just pull air from the inside of the van, and still have the single outtake vent sending the air outside the van. That way as the van is cooling down or warming up it makes it easier for the AC to work. I did this for my second trip in 62-85 degree weather in NC, and the ac works pretty well. Also the ac works great at any outside temperature with the vehicle driving and ac going, no need to pull air from the front to the back you can just turn it on and make sure the outtake vent is set up. If you want to cool everything down super fast I suggest just putting a fan blowing air from the front of the van while driving and put the ac on in the back. This makes my van ice cold. Other advice/info: My van needs better insulation [I have the walls, ceiling, and floor well insulted but the driving area need to be insulated off from the back of the van (i plan to do curtains lined with wool) and the sliding door and back doors need more insulation (also plan to do curtains lined with wool] once I do this I believe the ac should be able to work better in more extreme weather without the vehicle on. I use the 2400 pecron battery and 2 200watt pecron solar panels that are mounted on my roof to power the portable ac unit.

Wasteful yes, but it can be effective. I went camping two weeks ago in 95° heat at the scout camp north of Orlando and brought my Ecoflow wave 2. I was on staff for event, and it kept the interior of the tent fairly comfortable. It did run all night continuously. For reference this is a 4person tent from MSR.

You have to have 2 hoses for real air con and you really should insulate the outflow hose. You can buy velcro wraps cheap on amazon. 1 hose is just a fan with extra steps. Source: science, and my personal experience with an ecoflow Wave 2

No air con runs off 8 A (thats what your cig port output is). The "best" portable air con is EcoFlow Wave, however that requires AC, but you can get a big power station that can be charged via DC to power it. The "best" installed air con thats DC (i.e., 12 or 24 V) is Cruise N Comfort. Neither are cheap, both require a lot of amps. Anything smaller is probably not worthwhile. I have personal experience with both in my van

EcoFlow Wave 2 is probably the best in this category. I would recommend it along with the biggest EcoFlow battery you can afford/have space for. It works well for what it is. Have used it for two summers in a 170 Sprinter. Not going to run for multiple nights without some sort of charging method even if you have a Delta Pro. Highly dependent on vehicle and conditions of course

I have a wave2, and I do leave my dogs in my camper with my Wave 2 running. You have Bluetooth signal from the Wave 2 is pretty strong, I don't leave the city, but if I'm close enough that I can visibly see my van I can pretty much connect to it and check my phone for the ambient. But it takes an enormous amount of electricity. I have a 200 amp hour battery bank, and the Wave 2 battery also, and even with all that I can really only run it about two or three days without some other type of recharge. When I say 2 or 3 days I mean from probably 11:00 a.m.ish 7pm.'ish. recharging that amount of energy takes quite a bit. I have 400 w of solar as well and that's factored into the statistics I mentioned above.

I have one. I would not expect it to do much if it's 105 outside. If your trailer is very small and you're running it off of shore power you may be able to drop it a couple of degrees but it's not worth the cost in my opinion. The battery is absolute garbage too.

Ecoflow wave 2 is one of the quietist I've come across but it's also a bit small in capacity and it ain't cheap.

I have one, that I run in my RV on an inverter and 900 Ah's worth of batteries. They are not very good on echo mode, or sleep mode, you have to have them on full blast to get much benefit. With that said I can it 7-8 hours at night and it cools JUST the rv bedroom to a nice temp. The bedroom is the size of a queen bed with a walk way around it. This does not work well with a tent, nor anything with out insulation. It also does not cool a large space. but with that said it does work, and we love it in our RV, when we are dry camping.

I added a portable AC to my Prius and it turned out really nice! I drilled a hole in the side to vent it. (There’s an open vent slot in the trunk. That’s the best place to vent it without cutting through any metal.) I know the outside cover looks weird now, but it should look better when I paint it silver. It runs off a ecoflow delta 1260WH battery for about 4 hours on max, and all night on eco mode. It’s pretty nice so far. I don’t like running my car AC all night because my Prius battery is really old, so this is the next best thing I could think of. I’ll post more updates once the vent is painted and the inside is fully set up. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions about this set up! (Tools needed: 4 1/2 inch hole saw, a drill, 4 self tapping exterior screws, tin snips to cut dryer vent metal down to size, and clear silicone caulk to seal around vent seams if you want it to be air tight.)

Update: After further testing I have come to the conclusion that this was a bad idea. The unit gets way too hot during use. Even after insulating the hose, it’s still way too hot and it transfers all that heat to your bedding. It barely cools the car down at all. I don’t recommend this set up. The only thing that may work is if you put it in the front seat and vent it out of the passenger window. Then pipe the cold air into the backseat, and have a curtain in between the front and back seat to keep the heat away from you. You also need a big box fan to keep the air circulating. A little fan won’t cut it. I’m gonna tinker with it a bit more but so far this seems to be a failed experiment. It was worth a try though.

The guy knows nothing about air conditioners or Eco Flow, he's running it in a 72 F air conditioned house of course it will drop temp 10 degrees - also no vent ducts when he sticks that intake duct out in real world 90-100 degree outside air, its another story. Also all air conditioners dehumidify air nothing unique about this unit. I'm still waiting on a firmware upgrade for both my Wave 1 & 2. Of all thing the thermostat does not work you can set cooling or heating temps. Mike

Trying mine out for the first time in my small trailer eight and a half by five and a half fully insulated 2 in thick insulation walls and ceiling and floor sun finally went down and steel cooler outside than it is in the trailer and air conditioner's been running for 3 hours wish I would have took it out earlier and tried it out and seeing if I could get my money back would not recommend would not recommend would not recommend. I have this thing sitting right at my window with maybe five of the clicks out on the hose so it's running straight in and it's just not doing it. Really disappointed. I'm handicapped and my medical conditions don't tolerate me heat and going to find something different.

I can cautiously recommend EcoFlows Wave 2. I use it with my Rivian R1S and RTT. I looked at another alternative but I don’t think it’s compatible with the Lightning. I’m familiar with one other portable AC, but decided on the Wave 2 because it also doubles as a portable heater. I purchased the unit on eBay refurbished at a steep discount. I’m hesitant to recommend it because it’s kind of a niche application. You’re trying to cool a tent with poor insulation and has been sitting outside in Texas heat all day. That’s a tough job for any portable AC. I’m also in Texas.

I have an Ecoflow Wave 2 on my boat that has its own battery. I can dehumidify and cool down my cabin in a tropical environment pretty quickly. Yes, it has ducts to push hot air out and cool air where it needs to go, so it's a little cumbersome. The battery will not last long on high cooling mode but is reasonable on eco-mode. I like the idea of having a portable air conditioner on my boat. I may do a permanent and proper marine air conditioner in the future, but this one does everything I need it to do right now.

We have a Wave 2 AC that we use for sleeping if it is hot and/or humid. It runs off a Delta 2 that is plugged into 400a of 12v batteries (charges at a rate of 80w). Even with a setup like this, the Wave 2 only works for about 4 hours and brings the temp down just enough so my dog isn’t overheating and pacing all night. Last time we used it (July in Missouri), it was cooler outside when we opened the door in the morning. Even with these limitations, we continue to use it and are happy with it for our needs. You need to be realistic about cooling (and heating!) and how much power it actually uses. What are your other electric needs for camping? A Delta 2 doesn’t provide that much power, especially if you are concerned with how much you’re spending on your setup. Plus, it is SO FUN to get into electrical wiring with 12v!

There’s the ecoflow wave and the zero breeze. Both take up considerable space (about the size of a passenger and then space for the air ducts) and require a LOT of power to keep them running and make it viable. You can view YT reviews of both—basically you need 400w of Solar to keep it running longterm, and that doesn’t include anything else you need to power. They’re both over $1k and spare batteries are extra. I tested both in my Subaru Crosstrek and used solar blankets + blackout curtains to create an enclosed space so the units wouldn’t be cooling the entire vehicle (and it’s a very small vehicle). The zero breeze felt good blowing right up on me. The ecoflow cooled the space decently but used up so much power, I would need more battery wh or more Solar to keep my fridge running. I wouldn’t recommend either due to how much space they take up in a small vehicle. Now that I have a small cargo trailer, I may revisit them again, but as an extravagance, not a necessity.
