OldLondon 0.5I just got a Homcom 10000btu portable for £200+delivery from TJ Hughes. Seems pretty good so far and does a grand job of cooling down my space about 30sq metres
t0b9 0.5I have a Homcom one, 10k BTU which was around 300 quid. It’s noisy as fuck, even on low, and the hose is a pain in the ass (have to position the unit in such a way that the hose can reach a window) - but it really is brilliant on a hot day. My girlfriend keeps turning it off because she says the living room gets too cold lol. One thing to note is that the hose it comes with is pretty short (maybe 6ft fully extended). If you’re going to purchase a longer hose to use with it, don’t buy a cheap one as it will be really thin and the hot air will just seep through it, making the air conditioning futile. The good quality, thick ones aren’t cheap though!
