12,000 BTU Inventor AC off Amazon. Mine struggles on really hot days with sun coming through the bay window. Living room is 4x4m but high ceilings, but its cool enough to be more comfortable than without it. The cool air blowing at you will make you more comfortable even if the room itself doesn't cool down much. Portable ACs are far less efficient than mini splits anyway because they create negative air pressure in the room, drawing in air from any gaps it finds such as the window the exhaust pipe goes out of. They are noisy regardless of which ones you buy. You will struggle to sleep with one on.

I bought the Inventor 12000 BTU for my photography studio. The room has a giant south facing skylight that we still need to install blinds for. So as you can imagine, the room gets exceedingly warm on sunny days. The AC unit was easy enough to setup. But the window seal was a complete faff. I have old windows that push outwards and there are metal bars in front of them. So it took ages to get the seal put in and it's not perfect. However, the Inventor has made the room so much cooler and I don't have to blast it all day. Just an hour or so before I need to use the room and then another blast after a few hours to keep the temperature down. It is noisy and quite large. But given how much of a sauna that room can be there really is no other option. Next step, I need to figure out how to blackout the 5 meters of skylight that we have.
