If it's this one/similar you're in for a treat! Bought it last summer and it was a welcome relief. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7623899.htm?cmpid=APP003 u/Zebra_Sewist is right about the window kit though, it's a bit naff/tricky to set up but if you can get it right, it's a dream.

I got a Meaco 10000 a few years ago for £380. Best house purchase since the air fryer.

Got this one about 3 years ago. I use it to cool one room (bedroom) and use that as my refuge. https://www.meaco.com/products/meacocool-mc-10000-btu-portable-air-conditioner-heater-and-dehumidifier?srsltid=AfmBOopHQKSodSyPK9HZ8ZNMVRnigTX1GFfQX92D0YfOojsRtRcNhsUD It exhausts out the window.

We’ve just got our Meaco, the 10k version? Might not be the right name. But it can sit on the landing and cool two bedrooms to around 20-21 degrees. During the last heatwave I had to sleep downstairs with the baby, it was such a pain

I've got a meaco one from Costco and it's fantastic. It's the 10000ch model. Lying in bed right now, the room is about a cool 21 degrees and I'm being blasted by cold air. Bought it for my wife when she was pregnant with our first during a heatwave and it's a lifesaver.

Honestly it's been amazing. I am not a fan of heat at all being Scottish and cursed with having to live down south. The only issue is it's bloody heavy and I never tried using the window seals. I'm thinking of buying a second but I'm scared of how much energy it's going to cost me.

65db according to the unit. Not really that bad at night if you are used to white noise.

32c outside, upstairs would normally be 36+, was 23 with my Meaco 10000BTU on the landing. I turned it up because I was too cold in my shorts. Installation took me 5 minutes, less time than getting it out of the box. When it's no longer useful, it will go away out of sight. Though it also works as a heat pump so I may use it to heat my office in the winter rather than the whole house. There are DIY split options available but that would require getting a rather heavy condenser up a ladder, mounting it, etc. So I've saved a bunch of money and time and my back. Win win win.
