I have a Meaco air conditioner unit, it's pretty loud and doesn't get the room ice cold, but it's definitely helps during heatwaves. It has wheels so you can move it room to room but you have to set up the tube that goes out the window and that requires vecroing this fabric contraption around the window, so we just use it in the bedroom. I think it's the MeacoCool MC Series 7,000R model.
Have a meacocool for a fair few years. Has lasted well through several heat waves. It is loud but that is more bearable than the heat. However my wife complains about being "too cold" with it on during heatwaves so I can't bloody win

Nabbed one from them on a Black Friday deal a couple of years ago and it's absolutely transformed my summer sleep quality.
Having solar panels on the house also minimises the energy costs beyond a quick burst in the evening to cool the room before going to bed.
