Nabbed one from them on a Black Friday deal a couple of years ago and it's absolutely transformed my summer sleep quality. Having solar panels on the house also minimises the energy costs beyond a quick burst in the evening to cool the room before going to bed.
r/CasualUK • Why didn’t anyone tell me how compact and effective these portable air conditioners are? Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->If that's a meaco you can 3d print an adapter and add a second hose to make it more effective https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdH85QtD/
r/CasualUK • Why didn’t anyone tell me how compact and effective these portable air conditioners are? Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->I have a Meaco one that's pretty good. It came with two different window kits, so hopefully one of them will work.
r/AskUK • Can someone please help me find a portable air con that works? I have Cancer and the room in my nursing home is unbearably hot. ->I've got a Meaco dehumidifier and now a Meaco AC, my Meaco collection is growing. Is that the stream deck buttons next to your keyboard? Can you provide a link to that digital time thingy you have on your desk.
r/CasualUK • Why didn’t anyone tell me how compact and effective these portable air conditioners are? Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->My Meaco costs about £1.5 a day (it runs 15 minutes per hour from 7am to 10pm), and considering we have maybe 10 proper heatwave days per month, and only 3 months of summer where these heatwaves can happen, that's totally worth it.
r/CasualUK • Why didn’t anyone tell me how compact and effective these portable air conditioners are? Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->I run mine 15 minutes per hour from 7am to 10pm. Then outside temperatures tend to drop below inside temperatures. You don't have to have it on literally all day for it to work. I think I've paid maybe £10 so far this summer to not feel the heatwaves at all.

Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->We used to have a Meaco one from Costco within that price range, and that broke within a year. Since then we tried an AEG one which was terrible, and now have a De’Longhi Pinguino. It looks like Currys have a couple near your price range. We also have a still working De’Longhi dehumidifier which is probably old enough to vote, and so while now I’ve praised them on the internet I’m sure they’ll both break immediately, I have some faith in the brand. Would definitely suggest considering spending a little extra on one of the Pinguinos if you can.
r/CasualUK • Portable air con recommendations? ->I've got a meaco just like this one, might even be the exact same model, and the window kit it came with works fine on my outward opening windows
r/CasualUK • Why didn’t anyone tell me how compact and effective these portable air conditioners are? Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->Mine is a Meaco one with the hose out the window and works very well for cooling a room and making it less humid, it is quite noisy though and the window kit is a bit of a faff
r/AskUK • Are ACs much cheaper to buy in the winter? Do they work that well anyway? ->We have a Meaco portable one, it's very loud but it works really well. You just need a little window sash kit for the exhaust tube. I bought it some years ago and it got delivred a couple of days prior to that big heatwave where it was 40 deg.C; we al slept really well in the cool, I got it because I was worried about my then baby.
r/AskUK • Do you have air conditioning? Is it worth it? ->Went for a Meaco because we also have a Meaco dehumidifier. Set it up on Sunday, turned it on, had amazingly cold air blowing out the front for around 30 seconds, then it sounded like the compressor kicked in, and it completely reversed, with hot air coming out the front, and the cold air going out the window. Repeatable every single time. Meaco support is trash, so am returning the faulty one, and the new one arrives tomorrow. Second time lucky, hopefully.
r/AskUK • What can cool my room in the heat that doesn’t require installation? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
