I can highly recommend the Midea Porta Split, available on Bol. I saw it at Hubo also. This is a all-in-one split unit ready to use. It’s costly… 999€ for the bigger model (12k BTU) or 799 for the smaller one (8k BTU). As this is a split unit, it avoids the biggest default of any non split mobile AC : it doesn’t create a depression in the room you want to cool. Because when it’s bloody hot outside, and that you want to efficiently cool a room, getting more hot air in the room where the AC stands is counter productive and not efficient energy wise. Also, it’s way more quiet. You can easily sleep with it on. It includes a kit to mount the outside unit on a window (work as well on Velux) and there are accessories to suspend it on your balcony if needed. Yes it’s expensive, but it’s worth every euro I spent on it.
I ordered it by Bol but it seems to be out of stock (https://www.bol.com/be/nl/p/midea-portasplit-mobiele-split-airco-inclusief-beugel-voor-frans-balkon-12-000-btu-koelen-verwarmen-met-wifi/9300000291516366/) Pro tips : when I was looking for it on Bol, it was sold out in French… but not in Dutch (yeah, I know… wtf). And I ordered it in Dutch, and everything went fine (through a reseller on Bol named « Evolar »). It was shipped in 2 days. Looking right now, it seems to be sold out in both languages… Hubo has it also, but with a 2 weeks delivery delay. Do not forget : it will not be the last days of heat in Belgium for this summer and in the future, this solution is really nice and doesn’t need any assistance to be installed and is, from my POV, the gold standard of mobile AC. It’s worthwhile to wait a little bit to get something so qualitative. You just have to know that the main unit weight around 45-46kg. If you need to move it in stairs, you’ll need help. Otherwise, it’s on wheel so it’s easy to move. And the cable between the outside unit and the main unit is 2m long, usually enough in almost all situation, but could be a constraint for some people.

Very small footprint (13”x13”). It’s only 8000BTU, but that works well for me. I have a 12000BTU Midea heat pump that does the bulk of my heating and cooling and I just use the Hisense as surge capacity for afternoon solar gain when the sun is streaming in to my west facing condo windows. The Hisense has a reasonably good community integration into Home Assistant. My only complaint is that you can’t silence the beep when the unit switches on / off either from an internal signal, the remote, or Home Assistant automation. For this reason I used Home Assistant’s sun above / below horizon state to disable the Hisense at night. I’d rather deal with it being a bit warmer than the Hisense beeping as it cycles on/off. (See next post).

It’s been not that hot recently, so the Hisense hasn’t triggered and the Midea has done the base load cooling. But on sunny afternoons having an extra 8000BTU of cooling is very much needed.
I have had the same unit that heats as well for the last 2 years. Best part about it is I can mount the exhaust ports in my window without having to take the screen out so I never worry about bugs. Depending on the distance between the screen and the window sash, you may be able to do the same.
I have the reversible heat pump version of this one (mine’s a Midea, but the Danby is just the same thing rebadged), and it’s been going solid for years. I do recommend the heat pump one though it’s worth the extra cash especially if you have electric baseboard heat because it’ll save a ton of electric bill cost in the winter, plus be just as effective of an air conditioner in summer. Despite looking like a single hose from the outside this is actually a dual hose unit (they’re just nested inside eachother), so it doesn’t have the drawbacks of single hose ones. Avoid single hose, they pull the room down to negative pressure so heat leaks in from elsewhere and negates the whole point. My husband had to rig up some plywood and foam adapter to make it fit our window as the included plastic one doesn’t really work everywhere.
2 hose, same as the one OP posted, where the two hoses are nested inside one big oval shaped hose. The only thing that’s different about mine is it’s a reversible heat pump, so it can heat or cool. Also it’s worthwhile to put it up on a couple milk crates or something and get an automatic condensate pump from Home Depot, then connect it to the drain port on the back. A condensate pump is basically a little bucket with a float in it so it pumps out the condensate for you into a nearby sink (or outside or whatever) whenever it gets full. Without that you’ll be constantly emptying the built in water tray bucket thing. The top end portable units have a built in pump for that but I’ve never seen them on sale anywhere.

Kannst du nicht lesen, oder willst du’s einfach nicht? Das Gerät ist fest mit dem Innengerät verbunden, es sei denn, du planst, beides gemeinsam aus dem Fenster zu werfen. Dann, ja, könnte eventuell was passieren.
Solange das Außengerät nicht über die Kante deines Fensterrahmens hinausragt, können sie rechtlich gesehen nichts dagegen unternehmen, da dieser Bereich zur Wohnfläche zählt.
