Okay as a self proclaimed AC expert, with 3 AC's in my home. And directly involved in the install of 7 AC's (both portable and fixed). What you need to do is type in 'Porta Split' in Google and buy something similar. Or something like this https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/portasplit8k/electriq-portasplit8k-air-conditioner A lot of them cool AND can heat the home (at a much cheaper rate than gas). Enjoy and good luck Edit: yes it is super silent as well. And all the noise is outside. The reason portable units are loud is because they don't have a split system, causing them to be loud and very inefficient. These are silent. With a 39db rating. Comparable to a refrigerator Edit 2: I am a big advocate of standard split units. Especially Mitsubishi heavy (the app is a bit clunky when it comes to smart features tho. Feels like it was made by older reputable Japanese engineer with a fax machine). But I understand this doesn't fit everyone. Especially if you are renting, moving homes, and cannot put a permanent unit outside. But the link I put above is the second best alternative. I also have an LG full split Airco. The smart features in the App are better than Mitsubishi. But when used for heating, the outside unit gets a bit on the louder side when temps drop below 10⁰C outside. And the defrosting cycle is also pretty loud (when temps drop below 5⁰C). Mitsubishi heavy on the other hand is always dead silent on the outside unit. And have a silent mode. Your neighbours will prefer the Mitsubishi I actually started off with a normal portable AC. That was really inexpensive. Noisy and inefficient sure. I didn't mind it tbh. Got the job done and easy to set up. Was actually a game changer at the time. But indeed, OP wanted something silent, so this was my suggestion to him

I ordered a Midea Portasplit earlier this year but returned it as it was massive and insanely heavy. I am sure it is the most efficient solution but it was just really hard to move into position for the few times a year i need it. I am now using an Ecofort Monoblock and it works really well, while still being easily movable due to its wheel and it not being so heavy!

Have the Midea porta split for around 60m2 in a well isolated building. Works great. Outside unit is on the balcony. Keep in mind the outside unit makes some noise and releases some water.

Yes, it's gets very, very hot here. Get a Midea PortaSplit portable yet split A/C, it solves problems, but for me it steal means that for 3-4 months/year the only comfortable place for me is my apartment.

Midea Portasplit is absolutely amazing. Silent and pumps the condensate outside. It also is a portable ac with an indoor and outdoor unit so you dont have the whole negative pressure thing

Even if you have a solution where you have a perfect seal around the exhaust hose in your window or door, because of how it works, it will keep on drawing in warm air from the outside. They make a huge amount of noise since the compressor can only operate on the highest, or nothing at all. The only real solution if you want an efficient AC, and you can’t, or won’t, install a traditional split AC, is something like the Midea AC. We bought 2 for our 130m2 apartment last year before they were sold out, and they are a lifesaver! I have made a passthrough for our sliding door, where I have 3D printed the main hose passthrough and extended it with a wooden beam. I’m then using some insulating foam tape to make it as perfectly sealed as you can. But honestly, since it doesn’t push or pull any air from the outside, it’s not needed to make a perfect seal. If you have the money, buy the Midea Portasplit NOW! They will be out of stock soon as the summer gets hotter!!
