I have a madea portable ac I use during the summer and it gets our main room ice cold!
r/AirConditioners • Are there and actually decent portable air conditioners? ->Bad news for me is my Midea U-shaped in-window AC is on the recall list. I bought it a year ago at Costco on sale for around $300. I assume even if I might get a full refund, I probably won’t be able to get a new one with the same 12k BTU for $300, which makes me so angry. Anyway, we just bought the exact same portable model as you, but for $499 at Costco in the Seattle area. You got such a good deal. Anyway, I love this AC unit, it’s amazing! It’s currently 73 degrees inside the room where we put it, but it’s 84 degrees outside the house. It could be even colder in here (the machine is capable of that), but we don’t want to feel too cold, LOL. Every summer until now, I have suffered so much (the heat makes my health issue temporarily much worse, until the air cools down). I really hope this one won’t be recalled in the future.

It's a bit loud when the condenser kicks in depending on mode but did the job. Had a second Midea like the one you linked last summer and the Dry function didn't work. Called Midea and they said to take it back to Costco and get my money back, no questions asked. What's your room size? One is 12,000 and the other is only 8,000. You don't want it too big for your room.
